  4. Discussing your lesson on line is not much different than doing it at the clubrooms. The advantage here is a much bigger audience (with a lot of experience) and you can review what they/we said. ;) Your blog should be an inspiration to other members who are yet to have their first lesson. It's a huge task and I congratulate you on a very good start, do keep it going, it is the essence of these forums. We are all different, some of us are so laid back we are nearly horizontal, while others up front, upright and ready to blast off. But we all share the passion, otherwise we wouldn't be here. Your job is to sort the wheat from the chaff. Looking forward to your next lesson. regards :big_grin:

  11. No wuckers Mark (and Adrian) :) Here's what to do. Go to: www.airshow.net.au/avalon2009/flying-in/register.asp You will fit the category of: "a visitor using an aircraft subject to Civil Aviation Order 95.55" you fill in the details and they will email you with a user name and password so you can complete the registration process. What you get is: 1. Free tickets for you and 3 crew members for Fri, Sat & Sun. 2. Free camping for 4 people at the Lara Sports Ground. 3. Free Shuttle bus to and from the camping area. (runs about every hour) What they get - your aircraft on static display. You must be there for the 3 days to get the freebies. Plan to arrive Thursday. You can leave late Sunday, (most do) but better to fly out early Monday. The shuttle bus still operates from Lara. They set up a grass strip which they still call Avalon Main 18R/36L. Its to the west of the sealed runway (which is 18L/36R). You must have clearance to arrive and land at this trip (covered in an AIRSUP). Avalon East is available - you just arrive (Day VFR). (but no freebies - good for a day visit) Will post more info as needed. regards :big_grin:

  24. G'day Simon, Welcome to the forums. Good setup at Locksley, nice little airfield and very nice people. Plenty of places to visit once you spread your wings. Shepparton, Benalla, Mangalore, Bendigo and ECHUCA, to name just a few.:big_grin: regards :big_grin:
  25. How about the Luftansa pilot who was on the ground (in Berlin) talking to the control tower (on the radio) complaining bitterly that as he was a German pilot, in a German aircraft at a German airport talking to a German in a German control tower, why did they have to use english. Their conversation was interupted by another pilot with a very posh British accent who said.. "Because you lost the bloody war, dear boy" Classic regards :big_grin:
