  4. You're right - I'd recognize him anywhere. :big_grin::big_grin: Re-entry must have been a bit hot...... regards
  5. I think the problem is that common sense is not so common these days. Most of us are on the wrong side of 50 and grew up with plenty of input about our behaviour and attitudes from teachers and family members. These days I don't think it happens too much. Shame really. regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  6. It's so good to see Prior Preparation Plus Planning Preventing Piss Poor Performance - (the eight P's) :thumb_up: BUT, :ah_oh: What about AVALON As at this time our intrepid leader IanIfItDoesentMoveSellIt :big_grin: will not have his tent and goodies at the show. What's a poor forum member to do Where will we meet Who's going to give us free coffee and bickies We need a plan 1. Who plans to fly in? 2. Are you camping at Lara Sports Ground? 3. Can we please wear Forum name tags? 4. What about a meeting place at a certain time every day? regards PPPPPPPPPete :big_grin::big_grin:
  7. Take hold of that Wizz Wheel and make it your best friend :heart: - when you're sitting in your favourite chair AT HOME. :thumb_up: Practise, practise and practise. Get to know it well. Looking for instructions on how to use it while everything is going pear shaped in the cockpit, :yuk: is not good for accuracy or stress levels (nor will it impress your instructor). regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  8. Well, it's not. (real, that is). regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  9. OK - the price of petrol is falling.., falling..., falling. What about AVGAS? i_dunno Has anyone noticed the price comming down yet? regards :big_grin:

    Jabiru types

    G'day Mark, must be getting a few hours up in your Savannah by now. :thumb_up: It's a damn good question - there must be a quite a lot as they changed a few things for the different rules in overseas countrys. (variations of a theme). The thing I love about Jabiru :heart: is that they are continually evolving, small improvements all the time. I'm planning to keep mine until it becomes a collectors item. ;);) regards :big_grin::big_grin: PS - I've been a bit light on airtime this last few weeks. My Father in Law is visiting and he's a slave driver. (but I do get lots of things done) :thumb_up:
  11. G'day Friarpuk, seems to me the council guy is the one who breached security by leaving the gate open. :yuk: I'd report him at once as a bad security risk. ;) regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  12. How did the parking warden place the ticket under the wiper on the windscreen? regards :big_grin::big_grin:

    New Tyres No Go......

    G'day Ben - well, you can fly :thumb_up: - but you won't have brakes. :big_grin::big_grin::big_grin: Consider the 6" wheel option - much smoother, and you can fit the 10 ply tyres. regards :big_grin:
  14. That post is 5 years old.........:confused: I don't think it's gonna happen! regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  15. So they are there already? (Peter and Anne) or are they talking 2009? regards
  16. I had the honour of playing in the band at a reception for Vice President Dan Quail when he visited Australia quite a few years ago. We couldn't believe the security - had to unpack our instruments in the basement (and we were the military (Army)) - no cases up past the ground floor. Very impressive, and very thorough. and Beachbob if we think you're not very bright, have a look what we voted in. :yuk::yuk: regards

    geoffw

    No worrys Geoffw :thumb_up: - will see you there. :big_grin: Tomo - No that's not me. Reminds me of the old muso joke - "Welcome to hell, here's your piano accordian!" :yuk: The guy calls himself "Buster" :confused: and he used to have a bird (feathered kind) on his sholder - but we think the bird got to hear the old "What's that growin' on yer butt" joke one too many times and left the act. ;) regards :big_grin::big_grin:

    Debra

    G'day Debra - I always enjoyed George's posts and I come across them now and then when reading thru the older posts on these forums. When I do it's like finding an old friend that you haven't seen for a while. I never met your George, but like so many members here, I appreciated and looked forward to his contributions. He was one of us. Whenever I see a J3 cub, It reminds me of George. kindest regards

    G'day Geoffw - welcome to the forums. Nice little spot Kerang. :thumb_up: Took my father in law for a scenic flight around there last Tuesday evening. Might have even tracked over your place. Next Sunday week (23rd Nov, 4 - 8pm) I'll be at the Kerang Golf Club for "Jazz on the Green" with my Jazz/Swing Band (River City Swing) if you're there come and say hello (I'll be the guy killin' the trumpet ;)). regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  20. OK Captain :heart: - I'm here. :thumb_up: I suppose someone had to kick start the story again. I've been very busy - at home. YouCanGoFlyingWhen....MrsPete has had a few little jobs for OverWorkedPete to do before the christmas holiday season begins. So where is Paley, Planey :hug:and the rest of the famous NES crew regards :big_grin::big_grin::big_grin:
  21. The Jabiru J160c and the J170 have a very strong main undercarriage, (from the 400 series). Just keep the nose wheel off the deck and she's sweet. Not sure about the earlier Jabirus or the current J120. regards
  22. Then you're smarter than most.......
  23. The first bounce :ah_oh: - you don't believe it, :yuk: but you have enough nerve and confidence to try again. :thumb_up: At the second bounce you realize you're not half the pilot you thought you were, but you can still land - right - I am a Pilot. :thumb_up: At the third bounce :black_eye: your fundamental orifice takes over and you're training finally kicks in and you come to realize that a real pilot would have gone around after the first bounce and now you're trying to save your aircraft and your life. :hittinghead: So what about your DIGNITY:question: - remember your first solo when nobody saw how good you did. :thumb_up: Well don't worry, everyone in a 15 mile radius came to the airport today just to see your stuff up. You'll be the popular topic for a short time until some other poor bastard does the same or worse, thumb_down and you'll be off the hook. i_dunno God I love flying. regards :big_grin::big_grin: PS Now the good news - you'll only do it once.
  24. Wow Mudjeep - you're living our (most of us) dream. Cool - real cool. regards :big_grin::big_grin:
  25. Started to rain quite hard on the way home. :thumb_up: Had to pull over and get the car manual out of the glovebox. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Now lets see - wipers - where's the wiper switch! :big_grin::big_grin: It's raining in Echuca. :thumb_up: regards
