  1. I find myself giving to much of my attention to the flap handle instead of were i should focus.
  2. Hi mate. it was good fun today we headed over to turtle park and got my landings sorted did some engine failures simulated back to the field. then headed back just in time for it to piss down.
  3. Did some more flying today in the Savannah. My right hand seems to be working better on the landing. but that flap handle is going to take some time.
  4. Yes i was thinking the same .
  5. I will state i am far from an expert on any aircraft and stalling. The Sav s i just started fly seems to have a high nose attitude. in slow flight and landing. when you think you have flared enough for landing then you bounce back into the air turns out to be of surprise and not flying with my none dominate hand is a chore too. it feels uncoordinated.
  6. Interesting Kyle. we were doing exactly what the rans guy said just sitting there not stalling but losing height.
  7. Well all is ok then. when were trying to stall the aircraft it was just sitting there like it was on the end of a string.
  8. Hi wanted to know it normal for the Savannah to high nose attitude when you are trying to stall it. Paul
  9. I didn't know there was a shop and the shute airstrip till i saw the video from last week.funny story we just came in the gate and i said to the better half that there's no ops till 0800 but still check before you cross. then we saw you coming down one eight. And yes got there about 740. started showing me the ins and outs of the sav. We went above the clouds it was a bit smooth air did some stalls and trying to get some wing down stall going. with not much luck. and now i know about that flap handle. did some circuts and turtle park and then back for snags and watching other people skills and land and dropping tennis balls. i am going next week if Matt is available.
  10. So wanting get back into flying i have started with Matt's flying in mackay. And never having flown this type and i was a bit reluctant left handed and all that but the up side frees up my writing hand. but that was soon forgotten when we started. I will say its different then what i am used to but a lot of fun.

  17. will be seeing Matt on Saturday morning. I spoke to the local flying school too.
  18. I am going down to see Matt in the morning. I disconnected the sav because its ugly but that could make us a perfect match. other is the stick in the middle doesn't help when you are a left hook. But i will report back tomorrow.

  24. I found this news out this morning when i was getting ready for work. I met mark for the first time in the late 90s when i took my first flying lessons at point cook flying club he owned the the c150 i soloed in. He was a passionate man on a lot of subjects but aviation was he's number one. lot of us would take breaks from flying but not mark he was always there. RIP Mark smith.
