  1. I like the Foxbats myself, but are a bit out of my price range. The Jabs are nice aircraft, but I'm a bit wary of their engines... oh if only they'd put a Rotax in them.... otherwise they are a great well designed plane, or so I've heard.
  2. I'm not here to badmouth anyone. I only raised my concerns as the problems were happening, to make you aware, so you could fix the problem/s. These problems were likely to cause bad business to Aviation Advertiser, which in turn would put adversely affect purchasers and potential purchasers, like myself, and sellers. That is not good for anyone. I for one have no agenda in the matter, and wish you all the best. I just want to eventually buy that plane, from where? I don't really care. But the more places I can look, the better it is for everyone I think. And there are not that many places to look, so if AA closed down that would be a horrible loss to recreational aviation. With the exception of a deliberate attack by a competitor for their own financial gain, badmouthing only comes from dissatisfied clients. So if you satisfy them with a consistently good product, in this case a stable, secure and attractive website, the badmouthing will stop and your business will improve. I heard it said recently from someone in the industry a long time, that it was common to see 16 pages of classifieds. Are you scaring them off with an unreliable site? You say you fixed the problem, that's great. Time to earn back the trust you need to do good business.
  3. welcome
  4. I did a screen capture of that circuit indicator in that video I posted earlier
  5. Not sure what you mean by this kaz? Are you suggesting that that the live side of all circuits should be to the south? There may be issues with that, like noise sensitive areas, low controlled airspace, etc. I still say ERSA is the only official indicator of circuit direction. Any ground signals should be secondary to it.
  6. I saw one in a YouTube video of a Clifton Fly-In once. I have flown into Clifton but didn't see one.... It must have been there only for the fly-in. It's around 6:50
  7. Beware of the CTAF gate entry, Caloundra changed it's frequency not that long ago and have not changed the gate code to match yet, I believe the old frequency was 118.8. Well they hadn't changed it as of 4 weeks ago when I went there on a nav.
  8. You can also think of it as the pointy bits are pointing to the live side
  9. Welcome Scooter, what are you thinking of buying? Cheers, Tony
  10. The best, and official, circuit indicator is ERSA. If there is any change to this, look at NOTAM's
  11. Wow! The moment I posted the above message, I started having problems nearly every time I tried to go to the site. I don't know what you are doing or not doing, but something is not right with the Aviation Advertiser website, and this has to adversely affect the market. I would suggest that you find and fix this issue as soon as you can before you get glitched out of business. People will start taking their business elsewhere, if this technical problem remains unresolved for too long.Tony
  12. I asked the same question to my instructor when I was learning at Redcliffe last year. He basically said what you said, not a lot of options, land it on top of the mangroves at the lowest possible speed, and hope for the best!
  13. Great to see you're back in the air Brent. Good video too! I may see you at Watts Bridge...
  14. It is rough David. It's a great place to practice your short field take offs and landings. It was very bumpy backtracking and taxiing along the runway. Also there's a bit of a hump in the middle, like at YTWB. My landing there at YNAN was not one of my better ones, the approach was good, but it got real gusty in the ground effect. I made up for it on the T&G at Kilcoy and the full stop at Coominya
  15. Thanks Brent Exam passed! Now onto the solo nav...
  16. Thanks David, How's your nav training going?
  17. Yesterday I completed my 6th Nav YBCM - YTWB - YNAN - YBCM with a diversion to YKCY on the last leg. All came together beautifully. I can confidently say I have the hang of it now. I'm taking the exam this afternoon, and fly my solo nav next week.
  18. Hey Rick, I know what it's like to change flying schools and planes, it delays the process significantly, doesn't it? But look on the bright bright side, it makes you a better pilot!Tony
  19. Glad you're enjoying your XC David, I just did my 5th nav, "Diversion" last week. Still got one more nav to do, I believe it may be my solo nav, and then the exam. I can't believe I've already clocked up 12 hrs! It doesn't take long does it? It's the most fun I've had since going solo! Tony
  20. Hi John, and welcome to recreational aviation. As David said, you have heaps of options in and around Brizzie. Keep us up to date with your progression. Heaps of fun awaits you! Tony.
  21. Yep, it sometimes seems there's a big magnet on that left side of the runway! I hear the echos of my instructor's voice, "Get those feet working!"
  22. Yep, thanks, it's back online....
  23. Oops! Here I am joining the ranks of people having trouble getting onto Aviation Advertiser. For some reason it is not displaying the listings for Australian LSAs and Recreational Aircraft. Is there an update going on? And if so, to me this isn't the best time to be doing this. Being a Sunday afternoon, the time most likely that customers would be looking through the listings. It says "0 listings in Australia"
  24. Thanks KP, but I'm not looking at a tail dragger, just yet. I need more training. Just looking at a nose wheeler for my first aircraft.
  25. I saw a L/Wing GR582 go up for sale for $16k in the last few days. Anything under the price of a new 4WD I think is "not expensive"
