  1. I've been using Ryco Z14 since 2004 without any problems, change every 25 hours.
  2. Interesting, but like I said before "Probably better to ask Google for an explanation". I don't use Google Maps much so can't help. So long as the strips are where I want, when I want, I don't care much what they refer to them as. Cheers, Vince.
  3. Doug this is the best I can do, probably better to ask Google for an explanation. An airport is an aerodrome with extended facilities, mostly for commercial air transport.[1][2] Airports often have facilities to store and maintain aircraft, and a control tower. An airport consists of a landing area, which comprises an aerially accessible open space including at least one operationally active surface such as a runway for a plane to take off[3] or a helipad,[4] and often includes adjacent utility buildings such as control towers, hangars[5] and terminals. Larger airports may have fixed-base operator services, airport aprons, taxiway bridges, air traffic control centres, passenger facilities such as restaurants and lounges, and emergency services. An aerodrome (Commonwealth English) or airdrome (American English) is a location from which aircraft flight operations take place, regardless of whether they involve air cargo, passengers, or neither. Aerodromes include small general aviation airfields, large commercial airports, and military airbases. The term airport may imply a certain stature (having satisfied certain certification criteria or regulatory requirements) that an aerodrome may not have achieved. This means that all airports are aerodromes, but not all aerodromes are airports. Usage of the term "aerodrome" remains more common in the UK, Ireland and Commonwealth nations; in American English it is only used for a facility specialized in antique or ultralight aircraft.[
  4. Dalby is an aerodrome not an airport according to google, so Wellcamp is the closest Airport. Try Dalby Aerodrome.
  5. Building a kit can be almost as enjoyable as flying and something you will be proud of when you finish. Don't be put off by the knockers, time taken to build depends on entirely on yourself. I opened the boxes containing my Savannah Kit in early February and was flying it by the end of August. Just remember to complete the paper work as you go along and have the inspections organized in advance.
  6. With 20 mile CTAF I have no doubt that this problem exists in a few other areas. Home strip and strips East and West are 126.7 but strip 16 nm to the North is 127.65 and strip 14 nm to the South is 127.85 so it is possible to have three planes in the same airspace all on different frequencies.
  7. In my Savannah VG. They last 7 years. Make Deka Model ETX18L Type Absorbed Glass Width 91 mm Length 206 mm Height 163 mm Weight 8 Kgs. Volts 12 CCA 300 AmpHours 20 Terminals Bolt on Price $175 - $220
  8. Been using Castrol anti freeze- anti boil then Radicool since it changed it's name in the same engine for 13 years with no problems so will stick with it. Change it every 2 years. Repco will order it for me but Autobarn usually have it in stock.
  9. Not the case with this one, it was clear coated from new and has slowly worn away to the stage where the only place left with clear coat is the yellow tips on the ends of the blades and under the Brolga stickers. Have been told "KBS Coatings" Diamond Finish will work but have never used it so am interested to know what other people have used.
  10. I want to clear coat my Brolga Prop but have been told by a couple of reps not to use their paint as it won't last. Any suggestions of a good quality paint that will do the job?
  11. JG just wondering why did you replace your Brolga 4 blade and what did you replace it with? Is the replacement as good or better? Sav.
  12. Tap on each plan name then you can give it a name that means something to you. eg. if you do a plan from YDAY to Monto then to YDAY and another from YDAY to Warwick then YDAY they will both show YDAY-YDAY, tap on them and you can name one Monto and one Warwick.
  13. OzRunways says "Unlike iPads, all Android tablets, including those with only WiFi, have built in GPS." I use a Samsung TAB S with WiFi and GPS selected (No sim card) and have GPS position miles away from any WiFi connection.
  14. Yeah FT was still nice to watch a Dash 8 waiting till a RAAF jet cleared the runway in an old bush strip.
  15. Shit Peter that sounds a bit like this forum.
  16. No comment on the RAAF Jet that was there on Sunday either.
  17. Probably worth watching casa.gov.au/outnback when you have time.
  18. GPS satellites. Like I said before check out their website.
  19. Well that's how I track my mates and family and friends track me. Can't see how it's irrelevant to tracking discussion.
  20. For myself OzRunways works out less expensive than buying ERSA and Maps, also you don't need mobile coverage once you have downloaded required data. Check their website.
  21. Why not use OzRunways, then once set up correctly anyone can track you on their computer while you are moving?
