  1. AJ said: My girlfriends name is Tecnam and she is a Sierra with 226hrs on her. Just remember which one goes into the hanger at night. Too much funny business going on in hangers.
  2. I think the mile high activity is more of a challenge than the flying unless you have trees there higher than 1500 ft.
  3. MM said: There is a regulated requirement in our CASRs that a pilot must operate all flight controls prior to flightM Out of boredom as well I am doing that several times while taxiing. Incredible you need a regulated requirement. Like having a regulated requirement to move your feet back and forth if you want to walk.
  4. OK said: astounds me that so many went back to ordinary lives after the war and never flew again, or ever talked about it. Perhaps they had experienced their fill of adventure, and had learned to savour the simple, safe and comfortable things in life. I would do anything else as long as I knew I would be alive in the next ten minutes.
  5. Where do you find a very discreet pilot? [see ad]
  6. The mile high club and the vacuum breathers club are on my bucket list.
  7. I am a shed man and my tools are hung up on the wall. That was great-in fact better than great
  8. Thats the preflight check you do when you don't do a preflight check. [any complaints, see my scriptwriter] Just looked at it. He had pitch contol and rudder control but no aileron control-guess they were locked at the ailerons but giving some control stick/wheel movement taking up slack. If that doesnt scare you then you are in the wrong game. Read some more-a gust lock handle knob was found imbedded in the captain's hand so did not have time to free the controls. Apparently the one of the gust lock pins re-engaged because it was not proerly disengaged. For those who do their checks in a hurry.....
  9. I think if a plane leaves on scheduled time it arrives early based on it's schedule. Therefore it can leave late and still arrive on time. The last time I returned from Los Angeles we had to wait about 20 minutes in the plane or we would have arrived Sydney before the cerfew. They said it was cheaper to wait than circle Sydney for 20 minutes.
  10. Family Member: 'Well, what the f*** do you do with dead people on your planet He would have to check his company policy schedule
  11. The great chicken mystery revealed.
  12. and only for cabin door close to cabin door open What does that mean-don't wnt to use my imagination.
  13. Yeah, I had almost as many instructors as flights in the early years. I rated them from appalling to crash hot and they probably did the same to me.
  14. Of course. I've seen people who regard their only purpose in life is to make money, with no time to enjoy it. In the end someone else with a big smile on their face inherits it.
  15. Dont't become a masochist, invest the $8000 in a plane. There is one here for $4000 asking.
  16. Helps you cross the road faster, as well.
  17. Right, unless you have a plane that can do what an airline transport plane can do, you have the same pilot qualifications, and fly to and from capital city primary airports, you will be more restricted by weather-do you have the income of John Travolta?
  18. flyvulcan said End result, no-one was flying the aircraft after the positive intervention by the captain. That happened to me. Had an instructor who was flying a demonstration and after a while the a/c flew without any deviation. Then the instructor queried me if I was going to do the exercise. Then I queried him as to who had control-and it was no one. Motzartmerve said A witness saying it arrived vertically is no where near enough evidence to start sprooking stall spin. I am an instructor, and I rue the thought of you all shouting "how can an instructor stall turning base" about me if i ended up this way, before getting all the facts. Of course we don't know for sure and may never know for sure. However if we speculate different possibilities and address corrective action then we learn even more and keep the forum filled with posts.
  19. Takes a lot of co-ordination though I can't mention the three things I can do at once.
  20. Not unless you are metal man with xray vision:yelrotflmao:
  21. Yeah, sand holds lots of heat.
  22. Actually there are groups of people who only do that sort of thing-you see them doing anything risky. They have lower levels of adrenalin and high risk behavour gives them their high.
  23. That spinning prop nearby would take me out of my comfort zone:sleep:
  24. Actually you can get momentary increased thermal activity just as the air temp drops but the ground is still hot. Found thermals as the sun was going down but had to give them away beacause I don't have a night vmc.
