greggf Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 I've developed a condition that I'm naming Drifter Arm. It is the result of spending many happy hours Drifting around in lovely sunny weather with my right hand on the joystick and my right forearm perpendicular to the sun's rays. Definitely need to remember the 30+ before next flight Gregg
Admin Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Ouch! - but more importantly how does your sidekick go, I remember a Jerry Lewis movie where he had a pet rabbit that fell asleep whilst sun baking and ended up with a bright red belly
XP503 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hahahaha yes I too suffer from Drifter arm thank to these summer days....
pudestcon Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Brings back memories of learning in the Drifter out of Narrogin back in the late 1990s - I remember some serious sunburn but all good fun. Pud
Guest Maj Millard Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 greggf, Up here in the North if you fly for an hour or so you'll end up with a case of Drifter forehead from windburn, especially if you don't have the little thingy on top of your windshield............................................................................
Guest Maj Millard Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 For looking up girls shorts and for checking fuel in bottom tank...........................
Tracktop Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Thought it might have been for a fuel check. Does it work? I have been thinking of mounting one on my trike somewhere I was going to try the control bar but maybe the spat is another useful location. I have fuel burn but that doesn't tell me if I am loosing fuel from a leak ( eg drain check valve) and I would really, really like to see whats in the tank.
turboplanner Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hope that not a bad word Turb I don't think so. The Sphincter was built thousands of years ago on the plateu beside the Pyramids of Giza.
Guest Maj Millard Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Tracktop, the Drifter tank had a clear vert window in the tank, and if you calibrate and mark in black, you can see it real good. I always fed from the bottom tank, and when I got air in bottom tank I had 2 hours left. If you angle it right, you can see up most girls shorts.....Oh it helps to remember to clean the mirror prior to takeoff......
Tracktop Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Thanks I'll try one there. Xt tank already has level marks that are moulded in, and I have made them black so they are easier to read. I hope the secondary use was just something you had accidentally noticed and now include in you female ( in shorts ) pax brief.

Guest Maj Millard Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Riley, there's lots of fuel up a girls shorts if you've got the right girl...........................
