i would consider a wear strip under the flap sensor switches.. just a very thin strip of stainless steel maybe. or adhesive strip of mylar or teflon, and make it part of an 100hrly inspection. i can see the steel switches wearing through the aluminium pretty quickly.

One is metal touch and other one is a plastic roller, just take some tejp?

Its just allot of wiring, allot of redos to make it look good though, the VP-X makes it allot easier.

The MGL iBOX system is genius.

I think ive used about 10meter of DYMO marking to =)

Adhars got its position, was best i could do away from other electronics.

Cant wait to power up the system in the comming, days, still need to tidy up the wires first.

I hope all this wiring, etc, won't add too much weight to the aeroplane, Skee. ah_oh.gif.cb6948bbe4a506008010cb63d6bb3c47.gif

Good...... does the rudder cable just pass behind the servo then?

Yes, since I'm using a wire capstan ap servo, wires don't need be completely straight coming of the wheel, wires can be long to make up for bad angle, pitch wires catch in the middle the rear fuselage.

Wow, that takes up 2/3 of your dash panel.

Well I control radio and transponder from panel I don't need any more gauges.

That is your rudder cable isn't it?

yes its the rudder cable behind servo but i wont connect it to that, i bought a 15m 1,5mm wire to attach the pitch wire later on.

Ok, all electronics done so far i can now at home, autopilot works fine.

And I've started preparations to get the aircraft out.

Getting the electronics to work properly is very, hmm, educational. Few weird errors like.

By using two different microswitches with different resistors i get a value that i program into the efis, now the efis can warn me when I have flaps down when going to fast, but when the rs232 data link from my vertical power circuit breaker is connected and switching on the main power from backup, values for flaps are reset.

It's like when your standing in the shower and want to turn it on but instead the coffee machine on in the kitchen starts, whut?

  • 1 month later...
Ok , Ok ! Third story flat trumps single story cottage with sliding glass doors.

Well we rolled the fuslage out of the loungeroom today.

Not as seemless as I expected, had to pull the screens and sliding paines out of the sliding door and it was still a one wheel at a time job, But it did fit. For a horrible moment I thought we were going to have to take the main gear off again. Hurts to even think about that!

  • 2 weeks later...

Leonie looked at the picture and said "No Stephen you are not doing that!" Don't know what ever made her think I would. I am trailering my fuselage over to Aerokits paint booth tomorrow afternoon for painting Tuesday. The main gear has got to come off again tomorrow when we put the fuselage on the rotator for painting.
