  1. This the pump I use, pretty cheap at my local auto store Tom Thumb Pump Genuine, Fluid, Oil Pump 1L Bottle | eBay . Go slow or the end will come off and spray oil every where. I use ATF red for brake fluid. Cheers rick
  2. I see trutack have removed the Eco from their product list, disappointing.
  3. Try Kingoonya just up the highway from Glendambo , can taxi up to the bowsers, google Kingoonya hotel, they have a website, looks good for you. Cheers Rick
  4. I have flown the Nullarbor roadhouse - broken hill route quite a few times and always stop in at Mount Ive station for fuel and or accomodation. Very welcoming people, 98 oct fuel available, cheap shearers quarters up to restored stone quarters. Food, BBQ packs and alcohol available at the shop. Cheers rick
  5. Firewall is all aluminium rivets A4 and A5' s
  6. There's quite a few stainless rivets in the sliding seats, in the high stress areas where they have stainless doubler plates.
  7. Haven't flown it myself, have always gone the Eyre Hwy route, but others I have talked to who have gone that way usually head north west from Nullarbor roadhouse to pick up the trans line then follow it to Forrest. From there keep following to Kalgoorlie. There are well maintained strips at most all of the sidings if you need a comfort stop. The only iffy factor is rain on the strip, usually after thunderstorms that can make them slippy.
  8. Sorry OME called you the wrong name, didn't check the OP
  9. You'd be better of topping up your bladders on the Nullarbor, maybe Caiguna or Balladonia, Ravensthorp strip is a fair walk into the fuel station. Then go onto Esperance (Avgas BP card bowser) for another refuel, then Albany.
  10. I did a lot of research into oil thermostats on 912 and most people who put one on found little or no benefit. So I decided not to bother putting one in myself. Then had a guy ask me to install one for him. I told him about my research but he insisted so I installed one for him and yes indeed made little or no difference to warm up time. Just my $.02 worth
  11. Bring it on, I'm drooling for more photos.
  12. I installed a 2 axis a/p using MGL xtreme plus mgl servos. Fair bit of work to make brackets and install. I wasn't super happy with the residual drag of the servos, that is the amount of drag on the controls when the a/p is disconnected, but it appears you do get used to it. You can use other servos with the MGL system and I have heard of servos with nil residual drag. I did look into the Eco system from tru track, looks good and easier to install and nil drag on the controls but try and get info out of them is like pulling teeth, I gave up. Cheers Rick
  13. Sorry I could not get any good photos so I have edited your drawing a bit primitive. It can be achieved with various brass fittings (I use mostly 1/8" npt bits off eBay.)
  14. The return line line is separated from the fuel spider and moved toward the mech pump to allow insertion of the FF sender. I will try and get some photos and post them up tomorrow.
  15. Yes, but you can still get the same accuracy if the takeoff for the fuel return is before the fuel flow sender, so the one sender is then measuring the total fuel drawn by the carb(s). Hope you understand that, would be better with a diagram. What engine is it intended for?
  16. Here's a link to a good one, I have installed on a couple planes. FC-10 Fuel Computer Totalizer Fuel Flow Meter | eBay If you need an extra sender it's about $220 extra so $700ish plus freight. Are you really sure you need 2 senders? If it's because of fuel return line I usually install the sender beyond the fuel return, it works.
  17. You can get a fuel flow gauge with 2 senders for $325?, please tell me where!
  18. Hi Marty, I have used ASAP Aircraft spares in Caboolture, Qld a few times, they will email you a quote beforehand so you don't crap yourself later, and very quick with the mailing too. Check their website or call them. Cheers Rick
  19. You reckon it's hard to seat the bead? Lube and air pressure does that easy. What will bust your guts is trying to get it off. And if you take it to some ham fisted tyre shop bloke to break the bead you will get your rim back in pieces. As Mark said, the condor and air track tyres fit and remove easier. Cheers Rick
  20. I have flown into YNUB quite a few times, last time was was Ozkosh 2016. Avgas available out the back, PULP available from the bowser at the front. Switch motor off at the side entry and drag plane to the bowser, when it is quiet enough to do so. You may have to wait while the campers and caravans fill up and move on. Borrow a milk crate from the fuel pay counter if you need to see into the wing tanks. Work quickly to get out quickly, some people don't register there is an aircraft at the bowser and just drive in behind you. Good if you have a mate with you to handle the curious ones while you get on with the refuelling. You should have no problems, have a great flight. Cheers Rick
  21. Hi and welcome Dunx, I have a Sav S at Margaret River and a mate has one not far away at Boyup Brook. You are welcome to visit any time. I was thinking af doing a flight down to Esperance early next year, maybe could meet up then. Merry Christmas Cheers Rick
  22. eBay is my friend, easier than searching around town, here's a couple I found in a few minutes. I used the wire reinforced silicon hose just because you don't have to change it in 5 years time. Silicon- Wire Reinforced Silicone Hoses - AutoFlex Coolant & Radiator Pipes | eBay EPDM rubber- 25mm 1" I.D Flexible EPDM Rubber Reinforced Radiator Coolant Hose Pipe Tube uk | eBay Cheers Rick
