Downunder
I believe the Allison's are much cheaper to purchase, run and repair....... I think that's one of the reasons that the P40 has been the focus of alot of rebuilds.
kasper
Well if you really like woodwork and want a spitfire US$2-4,000 for plans that need an allison v12 is OK ... or for less woodwork and less cash £190 for plans for the Issacs Spitfire delivered to your Australian door - and it will fly within RAAus regn and on a O-200 or Jabiru or R912 http://services.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/node/2237

I don't think the one in the video is a "SAC" spitfire as per your link. It looks like it is a Marcel jurca. http://www.marcel-jurca.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=214:mj-100-deford-n1940k&catid=21&Itemid=248&lang=en
