Naa - Not a strike - aerodynamic enhancement 😈

Yes, I do know that. Hence I was just joking about it. You see, calling it a built in prop strike negates it being a prop strike and thus.... nevermind. The moments passed.

The jokes on me then - I didnt realy think it was a deliberate change to the tip.😈

How about 'built in prop strike' 😄IMG_20250622_095604_HDR.thumb.jpg.d9255962094e63da9457f9a32c9a7127.jpg

I like the method of adding the dynamic balance weight to the spinner 🙃😁😉

It's something I've never seen before, but maybe it works a bit like a wing tip winglet. This plane flew in, so clearly it doesn't NOT work ☺️

Q tips on a PA30 with a great rego, it was at old station this year.

Yes, must be the same plane. This was at Boonah for the Dave Briffa breakfast memorial

what is the idea behind them.  do they work like turned up wing tips.

I guess that the theory.

I remember, some many years back, that this was flagged as the next propeller performance innovation. As we all know, doesn't seem to have eventuated. I wonder why?😈

Less prop noise. Hartzell have moved on to Scimitar blades now. End of the blades is a swept wing to reduce noise as the tip approaches the speed of sound.

I think that's what I just bought for my plane actually. I'd much rather my lovely two blade wooden prop, but the pitch is too fine. So instead I'll have an ugly 3 blade carbon fibre prop
