Pacific Flyer Monthly Photo Competition - April 2010

Recommended Posts

Some of the new stuff on display at NATFLY:

First Tecnam P92 Eaglet in the country. More orientated toward the GA trainer than previous P92 models...

Arion Lightning powered by 120hp Jabiru 3300. This is the Experimental version of the design - there is also an LSA version with extended wings and winglets.

Colyaer Martin 3, made in Spain. Also comes as a flying boat and an amphibian...

Morgan Aeroworks Cougar. This is the prototype Cougar, a four-seat (they say '2+2') derivative of the earlier 2-seat Cheetah/Sierra line. It's powered by a 120 hp Jabiru 3300.

The Paradise P-1 is of Brazilian design and manufacture. It's got an all-metal structure and is powered by the ubiquitous Rotax 912 ULS of 100 hp. The LSA version was designed for the US market but this is the first one for Australia.

Wow, H.

You have a talent that might give Ross a run in this photo competition caper.

I should have treated you with more respect and deference when we did Temora last week.

Regards & congrats. That Powered Chute shot is indeed a cracker.

Hi guys,

I'm new here (thanks Philthy for referring), and I have just one question. To qualify for the monthly competition, are the photos supposed to be taken in that month, or can they be from any time in the past?

Cheers,

Chukcha

Anytime Chukcha - and welcome.

I didn't start this month's thread with the usual blurb. Check a previous month for all you need to know.

Sorry Slarti 049_sad.gif.af5e5c0993af131d9c5bfe880fbbc2a0.gifYou know, with one thing and another I didn't get a single shot of the Slartiplane at Temora 051_crying.gif.fe5d15edcc60afab3cc76b2638e7acf3.gif

Good to meet you though!

Did you mean the spotty orange plane parked as close as possible to the tea urn at the Recfly tent???:hittinghead:

Got a couple of happy snaps from the weekend. trundled down to the local airfield just after dawn to do a bit of plane spotting if nothing else to see what was in the static parking area. Nothing too exciting though

Did spot this Jab J-230

8:15am and right on time. Skytrans Dash 8 VH-QQC

ScottW - v. nice photo of the 170!

Tomo - the sunsets at Temora were quite spectacular weren't they? Love the shot with the moon too. I saw it there but was never in a position to capture a moment like yours.

Good work guys!

Thanks Philthy, yes the sunsets and rises were quite nice! I waited quite a while before I found an aircraft in the right place to take a moon shot! He seemed to understand what I wanted too and even banked a little!

G'day Philthy and thanks it is a nice 170

Watch this space for another 170. Currently offsiding (when time permits from the other work duties) an AME bringing a 170 back to life with a polished metal finish for a third party. Looking forward to seeing this project completed. That will mean two things, firstly the skin on my fingers will have a chance to recover after being dissolved from all the sanding and polishing. And secondly will see a lovely presented 170 back in the air.

Still have a fair way to go on the project and trying to schedule my other work around so I can spend more time on the project. Has been a great experience so far.:thumb_up:

Just hang onto it Tomo.

When you get as old as me, people will probably not only, not know what a box brownie is, they'll probably also ask, "What's film?"

Kind regards
