  1. Nope, haven't been made for a long time now - well the T500s that is. You can get a new Thruster T600 Sprint, and other variations from http://www.thruster.co.uk/spec/ My advice would be to have a good look around for a 2nd hand one. You should be able to pick up a T500 for $15,000 or so - cheaper for some earlier versions. Pud
  2. From memory, you don't need any instructions when it comes to consumption of the amber nectar Riley:cheers: How did you go with the Lightwing, did the smoke stay corralled inside the insulation? I'm back in the west now and wading through dozens of photos - hope to post some soon.......... Pud
  3. Well my T500 is hangared at North Gabbin which is 3 hours one way from my place to the hangar door where I also have an old caravan I sleep in. Being so far away means an overnight stay in the old caravan or at Pol's place (700m through the scrub) if we talk too long into the night. Pud. PS. Just drove 10,000 kms there and back, just to go for a fly with farri and maj - would do it again in a heart beat!!!
  4. It's all good in QLD Ian. Maybe your place next year;-) Pud
  5. G'day Everyone, Thanks to Maj for starting this thread; I will post up some photos and impressions of our visit to farri's place once I get back home in September. For now I'm just blown away with the generosity of Frank and his good wife Fran, Maj for flying up to Frank's place so we could swap yarns and 'tell lies' to one another on the beach, and to Frank Marriot in Townsville for giving me an hour of his time to talk aviation. Thanks to you all. We are currently in Mount Isa for a couple of nights before heading for Alice Springs - will take about 2 weeks to get home. Cheers, Pud
  6. I went there once and got a severe case of what too many prunes will give most people.... I don't go there anymore!!! Pud
  7. Ahhhh, one of those avoiding tax eh? Pud
  8. Definitely an improvement over here in WA Ian. A lot of difference noticed in loading a thread where the 'slowness' for me seems to be worst. Pud
  9. Goodonya Brett, and congratulations. All the best and safe skys eh? Pud
  10. Another contender in the country theme would be "I Can Fly" by Lynn Bowtell and Karen O'Shea. I have it on a 2 cd set called "Outback Adventures". If you are into Australian country music this album has some really great stuff on it. Check it out. Pud

  16. I think it's a numbers thing Richard. Even down south here around Perth the Rec Flying type clubs are few and far between. That's not to say they are not successful, just not a lot around. Pud

  23. As long as it's got a suppository I'll be happy hehehe Pud
  24. I have often thought that a comprehensive suppository of information is what's missing on this site. It definitely needs to be a reference section where people can go for information on the particular aircraft. As such, we don't want to see 'bashing' of any sort, but certainly impressions, based on fact would get an airing, so to speak. It could be a fine line sometimes and could take some astute moderation at times. As some of you know, I have been involved in restoring a Thruster from virtually scratch and it would have been a very big help to find most of what I needed in one place. It would be good to have Tony Hayes's material in such a reference section. My idea would be for material to be submitted by individuals for a particular aircraft section, and the submission/information would be 'vetted' by a panel to see if it would be worthy of inclusion. Sections for each aircraft type could include.... 1) Original manufacturers documentation and performance specifications, POH etc. Include different models here.(This section could have legal/copyright connotations I know) 2) Flight tests. 3) Suppliers list of various materials and parts. Not all aircraft manufacturers still exist so this section would include details of suppliers sourced by individuals building/rebuilding an aircraft. 4) Builders blogs. 5) Forum for the type, similar to what we now have - maybe you could transfer the threads for the aircraft type into this new section Ian. My thoughts anyway. Pud
