Can I cart my laptop with me for Weather?ERSA? etc.or do I need to have them in printed form? would cut out some paper waistage!!!

  5. with recent ramp checks and CASA appearences at local fly ins I think it would be a good idea for pilots to have an idea of what is required. to my knowledge to pass the ramp check: up to date maps, charts, and ersa,A/C log ,A/C flight manual, pilot log, complete flight plan, including fuel burn, heading and track, current weather printed and carried current certificate with appropriate endorcements A/C reg up to date A/C in airworthy order including all place cards (MTOW) Anything I have missed ? please post
  6. Details of your training? shouldnt they already have a photo copy of your log book showing the hours and what transpired for training? as this is required for certificate and for each endorcement.
  7. As you may know I was packed and ready to go just before the fly in due date (OK was ready about 6 weeks but thats just commitment for you lol) Was up at 3:30 with the excitement and faced an anxious wait for sun up... At Sun up We lifted off the deck into some dirty air and cleared 1000ft to find a 25knt head wind.."hmm this may take a while?" we set cruise at 70knts at 1500ft and had a ground speed of only 48kts but at least we could take in the view!!! we climbed to 2500ft to clear the little range over sandlewood with the wind still blowing 22knts direct head wind. after 1 hr 39 mins flying we lined up for 26 only to find an inversion layer that took our 50knt ground speed and replaced with 70 kts gs (asi 45knts) So a go around was commenced for 08 with no dramas. We were soon parked on the grass for display and watching the early arrivals.at the end of the day there were around 16 aircraft that arrived early..That night we enjoyed a bistro meal with good conversation. The locals were very friendly and helpfull. I met some really great peeps including a number of FORUMITES.. Saturday we enjoyed a bush breaky and then the planes started landing.one after the other.I was in heaven.. I was enjoying watching the planes land when I heard a faint distinct sound in the distance?I scanned the horizon eagerly and as the sound grew near I could spot a small spec approaching..As it approached the field my excitement grew as I could recognise the sweet sound of a 2 banger...I gazed up and there she was ........... Patricks beautiful Fisher buzzing over head..I had been waiting as I had never been up close with a drifter...I soon introduced myself to Patrick and can report he is one very genuine nice bloke:thumb up: .The turn out was amazing and I really enjoyed talking about my pride and joy with the public and fellow aviators.. Around the afternoon (I had decided not to fly due to 30 knt winds) I was offered a dream flight..YEP a flight with Patrick in his awesome fisher..Im not going to lie .I was a lil nervy out in the open in 30 knts wind but to my utter amazement..the drifter handled unbelievable....Once we left the deck I was totlally relaxed and enjoyed one of best (if not the best)flights Iv ever had.We flew to Renmark and back and the view is something very special. Patrick is an exceptional pilot and I thank him with all my heart..Words can not describe my gratitude for that awesome flight in the fisher.... The highlight for me (other than a drifter flight)was the the formation by the ENDOURCED Jabi trio and the TIGRE MOTH trio formation... .At the end of the day we had around 50-60 A/C arrive so was an awesome turn out. the hanger dinner went well and was a testament to the organisers..Thank you We left sun up Sunday and headed for home with beautiful tailwind of 10knt so ground speed was up to 80knts and was such an enjoyable flight a diversion was made to Karronda private strip then on th Peak sand hills,a fly by Pa's then home ONLY TO HAV A ROCK GET SUCKED UP ON LAMDING AND DISTROY MY NEW BOLLY $1400 PROP LUCKY im still on a high from the fly in so the props not to dissapointing ..YET!!!!! 10. I ask as myself and a couple others have been talking about a Low Performance/STOL (or any aircraft that can land in 300meters as the Jabi does) Fly in and BBQ here in the future but wondered about the insurance aspects of it.thanks
