I hate landing on the black stuff I always choice to land on the grass or dirt strips. Too hard on tyres and also not very forgiving specially with a crosswind

Well you only got to listen to what people are saying there need too be change but the people in position are leaning toward GA and it s pushing the drive way from fun and afordabity just my two bob worth I know I can't change the direction it's going so I just do my own thing but this is a forum to voice our options right or wrong. Cheers Doug

All this is just pushin toward GA standard not a good direction too go ... We are all flying for fun and afordabity all this wanting more weight and access to controlled space is G A territory so move up too sports categories and leave the basic AUF strutor alone I for one beleave that the RAA has lost what it was designed to cater for . Just my two bob worth Doug

Hello jimmy I have been flying behind two stroke now for over 20 years or so with out a single problem yes I beleive all engines will fail but good engine management practise and always fly with a safe landing area in yor sites will keep you happy with your choice of engine , they all stop just a matter of when and where ! But I beleive a two stroke is as good as any if treated right my two bob worth . Doug Learnt in a two stroke and still fly one 20 year or so later

I don't use brakes at all landing only for run ups and turning in tight areas in my Lightwing ! Under normal flights landing speed for my craft is 55 / 50 kn over the fence and if I require short field depending on load I come in Over the fence at 40/45 Kn this give me a ground roll around 60 m depending on wind can be a lot shorter ,

Major is one of these people who loved to meet and joke around with like minded people he adored his Lightwing and would fly off too spend time helping and showing others the joy of Avaition he took on the role of North Queensland rep spreading as much help and guidance as he could too all that took the time too chat keeping us in the north in the loop I myself have known Major Millard From my early days of flying in the late eightys AUF days major was buzzing around in an old drifter even then he would make the trip to old station from Ingham And many times we would catch up over a few home brew at Bill starke field Woodstock " Ace field " where we would have a great time talking about our adventures . I know I will miss his witty remarks and support that he gave me over my learning years of flying ,. He has always been there for all my silly questions and lent a hand when needed Mate you will always be my wingman and whenever I fly you be there . David See ... Me the big Bloke .....and Major Millard ..with his old Lightwing cap ............
