  1. Y yeah Alf, learnt in and then hired the Sierra. That plane has since been sold. Now it's a P92. I do miss the low wing though. FL
  2. Very true Winsor. I hope every day I can get through unscathed. It's a bit like flying thinking that the fan can stop anytime. Not a bad mindset to have! Flying Librarian
  3. Being a truck driver I also should not comment due to the sheer amount of stupidity I see on the road all day long. The vast majority of car drivers drive to a reasonable standard, but its the "few" that really stand out that are truly dangerous. Often I think their issue is the failure to think beyond themselves, wether that be road conditions, traffic or what we all know as human factors. Just my two bobs worth!!
  4. Good on Ya Bigfella, Good to see the authorities making a good decision. All the best with the Solo, it's awsome!!! Flying Librarian
  5. My thoughts and therefore decision to go RA was mainly based on cost. I figured I would try RA up to and including a Nav endorsement. I could stop at any time if I thought I wasn't cut out for it (hardly likely!!), and wouldn't be out of pocket too much. Then go flying and travelling around the countryside for a while in a Recreational plane and upgrade to GA if I wanted to then. Try before you buy.
  6. I feel a syndicate would be more in line with my wallet!!
  7. G'day Johann, Welcome to the site. This website http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/general-experimental-aviation-questions/5292-help-vibration.html suggests that it could be a spark plug issue. I have no experience with Rotax, but my old falcon ute had problems that I was sure was carb related. Turned out to be high tension leads. Hope you get to the bottom of the problem. Flying Librarian
  8. G'day Kiwi, Thanks for the advice regarding Dust Up. I was hoping to get a bit of an insight into ag aviation. I might just read up instead. Flying librarian
  9. Crop Duster at work. Growing up on a farm watching these guys do their thing, had me wanting to do it myself. Mind you I think this guy is pushing it a little. Can't wait till "dust up" is shown on TV here.
  10. With self awareness, acceptness, and treatment, mental health shouldn't be an issue for a private pilot. Being aware and treated for any condition being physical or mental would significantly reduce any associated risk. Just my two bobs worth. FL
  11. I'm much the same Kaz. Got to ask, where do you get the dog muffs? Does two dogs count as "one passenger"? Flying Librarian
  12. Fantastic stuff Phil, Showed both my loves, flying and snowboarding. Thanks for posting Flying Librarian
  13. Well done Sally. Great video. I'm just a little jealous. Keep em coming and I'll keep watching. Thanks
  14. G'day Wayne, Did anyone there happen to take some video footage for those of us that couldn't make it?? I reckon the Air tractors would have been a great sight. Flying Librarian
  15. I may have to have a closer look at the props in future. I only seem to pick up the obvious things like loose engine mounts, loose head bolts, wheel spats with one screw left, sticky elevator controls. All in different planes at different fields
  16. Hazair at Albury (ag aviation) used to be Death Aviation, operated by Stephen Death. Pronounced Deeth
  17. Good on you, Cuan, for bringing this up. I've been wondering the rules and requirements also. Having done my ticket in a Tecnam, wasn't sure on the requirements to have a go at a Jab, or a Morgan, or ...... There's too many that I want to have a fly of!!!! Flying Librarian
  18. G'day Ozzie, I've got the same issue but with digital watches instead. I have no idea why, but my analogue citizen work watch does the job. Flying Librarian
