  1. Thanks guys. Gareth how about I meet you half way when the Morgan is ready.LOL
  2. :cheers:On 14th April 2012 I did a TIF at Murray Bridge RPA. I did around 22 hours at Murray Bridge then moved to ASC Gawler because it was closer to home. I bought 24-7314 a 170c Jabiru and continued my training. A month ago I built a Hangar for my aircraft at ASC Gawler. Today after 48 hrs flying and 9 months I completed my Navs. I am now free to fly off to new and exciting destinations with my wife and really start to learn what flying is all about and hone my skills. Hopefully Iwill always have my Instructors voice ringing in my mind when I need it.
  3. Makes me want to get out and explore even more. Great photos.
  4. I think the guy you are after is well known at Gawler. He has his own strip near black hill. I can't remember his name but one of the many guys from ASC that come on here will know.
  5. I intend to start the new year with a flight after sunrise. Only trade off is no drinking tonight. LOL
  6. Thanks Cherk that is a great help. looks like a nice place to fly into. I will try and get some footage with the GoPro and post on here.
  7. Yes the tree is an interesting option. LOL
  8. Thanks for that. Hi thirsty good to see you still here. I was overhead Mannum yesterday at 4500. Nearly called in to RPA for a toilet stop. My Instructor said Clare for a stop next Saturday so it must be the new field. Apparently she is going into labour some where near Clare. Bloody women. As if I would take a pregnant female flying. LOL. I really want to fly into RPA as soon as I am passed my Navs to say hi and have a coffee. Tech air thanks for your help. It is amazing to me how dry everything is when flying around SA. I think I am looking forward to winter and some green. LOL
  9. I have to do a Navex which includes Farrel Flat. Can anyone help with info on this airfield? Height above sea level and runway info would be great. Is there any other fields in the area? This will be my last Navex which includes my test. I have completed the written test and done 10 hrs Nav so if I pass this I am finished. Is there a way of getting info on airfields not in ERSA?
  10. Unfortunately I didn't get my Navs finished so no trips away this Christmas. I still want to get up to Broken Hill but it may be more like Easter now.
  11. Merry Christmas to all. Enjoy the day with family and loved ones. Stay safe and if your flying today have a wonderful flight.
  12. Happy and safe flying to all. Enjoy this special time with family as none of us know what the future holds. Enjoy.
  13. Hey Mardy where did you get those covers? Can I fit them to a 24 ?
  14. Not a great video but it can only get better. Waiting to get a suction mount for the wing.
  15. With site prep, hangar, construction, concrete around $30k. Not a cheap exercise by any means. If I hadnt paid cash for all but the hangar it would have been around $36k. I laugh when people think renting half of the hangar $25 per week is expensive. Easy fixed. Go spend $30k and get your own.
  16. Congratulations. I bet you are still grinning from ear to ear.
  17. Finally got my new hangar built and my Aircraft now has a nice new home.
  18. A mate contacted me and is looking to buy a J170. He said he heard there was a J170 for sale at Gawler. I said I didn't know of one. Have you heard of one for sale at all?
  19. Linda I am devastated. I thought out of anyone you would be all for this with the travels you do. LOL Maybe I will just hope I never pass out in flight. I guess atleast I won't know what is happening as we plummet to earth. LMAO
  20. I just bought a GoPro hero 2. How is the unit attached and to where? What settings are you using on the camera? I want to use the GoPro on the wing not inside the cockpit.
  21. Golden rule in my book is if you don't want to get divorced don't try and teach your wife anything. Let her yell at an instructor not me. LOL.
  22. My wife and I own a J170 and intend to do some travels. I think it would be good for my wife to learn how to land our aircraft incase something happens to me in flight. She does not want a certificate it is just a safety thing.i know she will have to join the club we have our hangar at and also I believe she must join RAAUS also to be able to get lessons. This becomes very expensive to just be safe Incase. The issue I have is that she will always have to pay just to stay current just incase. What does everyone else do? I just thought that I will also have to change my insurance.
  23. Morning J170. looking at OzRunways it looks like real tiger country from Renmark to Broken Hill. Did you stop in at the hill and did you have an ASIC card. can't see me getting one between now and January.
