  1. I was wondering the same thing. I had a look at their site today and was thinking about asking the same question but you beat me to it! would be interested in knowing also as they look great!
  2. yeah, the 40deg flap was great for approaches over obstacles as well as short field stuff.

  5. Yeah, they were wild old engines from what ive read! There was a chapter in Neil williams book "airborne" about flying some of the old aircraft and controlling the engines at the Shuttleworth Collection in England. Its an old book now, but well worth the read!

  10. Far easier to get someone to teach you. Basic stuff doesent take long to learn when someone is pointing you in the right direction!
  11. have always wondered how these low to the ground canopies go when hitting a wire fence. Have always like tubular steel construction, bu i guess theres pluses and minuses to each different construction method.

    have heard of it happening with a c172 though. definately not a good situation to be in!

  16. the c185 prop noise was a horrible sound, think most would have had different props fitted now. Heard this was because the tips exceeded the speed of sound at max rpm!
  17. Have only been watching the aviation market for the last six months or so, having been away from flying for a good few years. Was just wondering if there are more used aircraft for sale/cheaper prices than in previous years?

  19. Guess there is no more or less chance of an engine packing up over water than there is over land.
  20. Did a trip down to Tassie years ago it was great, really enjoyed the bass strait part! If you get the chance do it!
