  1. Ben just a couple of small questions. Have you actually been up and had a fly in a 170? Just wondering what your thoughts are on the 120, with it being a bit smaller than the 170. Is there a reason why you want the bigger plane compared to the smaller one? We have a 160 are more than happy with it, and it is big enough for the 2 of us AND any gear we take away. -Linda
  2. Sea of Jabirus on the Sunday morning at the Bundy airshow 2009.

  4. James, If the audio output is too much power for the radio input, you could try joining the brown positive wire and the orange negative wire from the GPS data cable to the headset output of the radio, and see if that works. You would have to make sure that you have the correct negative and positive wires to join into that goes to the headsets. Hope this helps Brian
  5. I agree Ross, what problem? We had half an inch of ice all over the J160 at Parkes in July and she started first shot. -Linda

    Radio

We run microair and have had no problems, I think the biggest secret is to have a matched pair of headsets to go with whatever radio you might get. Brian
  7. Check the bottom of the headset plug when you pull it out and if it has one ring it is mono and if it has two it is stereo then you can set your headset to the same. Brian
  8. They are doing night flying with night vision goggles as part of their training. It is an ongoing endorsement that they have to keep up to date with. Brian
  9. Try eucalyptus lollies or ginger they both help. Brian
  10. There is a shop at Essendon Airport who has quite a few different headsets. Sorry his shop name escapes me at the moment, he also has Ians' headsets there aswell. Thanks Ratman...I try.:encore: -Linda
  11. LOL Is it ever? You can guarantee 9/10 times it's nice somewhere, but Ballarat is either closed in or blowing a gale. My most humble apologies to all the Ballarat crew...:FeelGood: -Linda
  12. Hey Darky. We have a set of Bose X headsets. Now there are those out there that will go on about them, but we fly long distances (from South to North) quite a bit, and they are extremely comfortable around the ears and quite lightweight for the 5-7 hour trips that we do, and even though they ARE pricey, I would like to recommend them on THOSE qualities. There are of course other sets out there more affordable under the 1k price tag, but may I suggest you try a pair of headsets on, and go from there? Personal preference for all. Hope this helps -Linda
  13. Dave I can answer that. Manny is his instructor, and yes he is flying the J160. -Linda

  18. We are going, we are leaving on the 27th and going to Arkaroola, the next day to Oodnadatta, the next day to Longreach and then to Bundy via Rockhampton on the last day just to see a bit of the countryside, hope to meet some more people from this forum just like we did when we went to Narromine. It won't rain in Bundy, our family up there always tell us how nice it is especially when we are freezing our propellors off down here.Who is going to the dinner as well?always good to catch up with fellow jabinuts and talk about the latest things that are happening. :) Brian

    Air filter

You are right Jack, Airfilters and oil are the cheapest and best maintenance you can get, change them as many times as you think you need too, it's the same as changing the oil filter when you do an oil change, false economy if you don't. Brian
  20. Thanks Paul, we will be going in August so it depends on the weather, I suppose the snow might be starting to fall about then so we will have to make a decision when it comes closer. The pics of the new house look good, fantastic scenery as well, All the best Brian
  21. Hey Ross, Good to see some work happening! All you need to do is get some fine line tape and mask the paper onto the fine line, and that will give you a neat straight edge to your paint. Also don't leave the masking tape on too long as it will be too hard to peel off. Good luck, you know how to contact me. All the best Brian.
  22. Damn you know me too well.... Good luck with selling it Ian. -Linda
