  3. Yep, that is a strip. Flew in there 2 years ago. Our club bought a gazelle of the guy there. A lovely fellow who was almost in tears parting with his lovely machine. It is called Burrier I think and not Yalwal. Needed a clearance from memory to get in and out. Terry

  7. Well done Ben, It was a great day and well organised. We left Wang in light rain but by the time we got to Hopetoun the weather was great. Was glad to get back to Hopetoun and be apart of the numbers there. As said in an earlier post the traffic etiquette and radio calls could not have been better. I had one local ask me where was the controller organising the pilots and couldn't believe it just works. Well done Ben Terry

  15. Our local club also held a PETS course for the wives. Initially the 7 of them all were just saying we are only doing this for our hubbies and were not really interested. But after lesson no 1 they were all chatting about there flights like young kids. They loved it.My wife completed hers up to pre solo stage and was landing a C172 on her own without a problem. Fantastic idea and a course that every club should run for both the safety pilot aspect and also for the enjoyment of your co-pilot Terry

  25. Great thread this one, Thanks Motza for your detailed account. To Ben in Shep and anyone in the Wangaratta area, CASA is holding an information night on Wednesday 19th March all about flying into Controlled and Uncontrolled airports-everyone welcome-it's free and a BBQ at the conclusion. There are others in different towns as well, just check CASA's website. Great timing to ask them those tricky questions. Terry
