  1. I grew up with Rallying and Motorcross, 2 sports where you are completely immersed with the machines and drivers/riders at the events, and still are, and it's something I enjoy very much. Motor racing used to be the same but now you're lucky these if you can even see the cars without binoculars through 2 or 3 layers of mesh. I also used to love going to museums, especially Melbourne as a kid with rooms stacked to the roof with interesting stuff, but in recent times they now have large rooms with just 2 or 3 items and a theme with lots of fancy lights and certainly no hands on any more. That's me, that's what, and many other things I have seen change over the years in the interest of protecting ourselves from ourselves, or rather, the insurance companies, as have many others over 50 years old. I went to Narromine 2 years ago and moved around freely, didn't see any reports of damage or injury to necessitate these fences. I am disappointed. Yuh, well you're doing exactly that.
  2. That's the one, I can't understand why exhibitors are charged. I've done 3 major shows in the past and felt it wasn't worth it, whereas the numbers of small shows I've done were good value with just a chip in for the clean up and porta toilets.
  3. No problem Marty, ears still ringing from an 18 hour trip sitting up the back of 2 x A330s, memory not to be trusted. Go with the people who know when it comes to riveting, the US Military; https://www.recreationalflying.com/tutorials/scratchbuilder/MIL-R-47196A.pdf As per 3.5, my 20+ year old wing that I just stripped with the zinc chromate is like brand new, despite all of the rivets being stainless steel, I can certainly understand Heintz avoiding them from a retail perspective though, there's no way you could trust people to do the required prep.
  4. They weren't there 2 years ago, it was great wondering around on the tarmac up close and personal. Not sure what you mean about the "money"?
  5. Sure, there are tea leaves everywhere, but the numbers would be far lower inside an event of this ilk that people have paid decent money to enter. Entrance fees keep scum out generally speaking.
  6. From the cheap inferior 701 copy thread (otherwise known as a Savannah) .. I seem to remember seeing different Marty a few weeks ago going through those plans I mentioned I got. I could be wrong but I swear there was a handful in a few strategic spots so be wary.
  7. I wonder if it's related to the delay in organising it with the recent issues and they had to find a different Insurance company who requested this? You need to write to people as well as here Guys, I won't be going next year if it's going to be like that.
  8. Yeah, lets see it, it might be the winner! I just had a quick visit to Oz (and now back again), it is the Nanny State. You guys don't see the change as much as me as it evolves around you gradually.
  9. I did mean for them to be seperate, not using the show per say as advertising, but using the production moment to kill 2 birds with one stone.
  10. I just noticed Marty, looking at the plan, that you clearly got the side around the wrong way!
  11. An amazing video of a 3D Zenith 701 showing the breakdown of the structure. Might be helpful to you Marty.
  12. I've done more calculation, scenarios and costing than most in this area over the last few years and 600kg sux for larger people who want to actually go somewhere with baggage in safety (and in a cheaper aircraft). In America, 600kg LSA is a failure while those 750kg "slug" Vans keep on rolling out the factory en mass, outselling all the LSA models combined, they are the ideal size, power, speed weight combination because the market has spoken, not numbers. I know what I would rather see happening in Australia, especially with the future reduction in airfields that will make the jumps longer.
  13. They have the product, point was more towards they are not marketing almost at all. .. and if they are it's certainly not reaching people.
  14. The C152 is nothing more than a C150 update born in the 1950's when both average physical size and certainly body weight were much smaller, besides people also seem more complicated now, having more things to take with them. Many manufacturers have in recent times enlarged their cabins for the American market, the 'B' model Sonex for example, and Australian men aren't far behind in size. My view is I can produce a cheaper yet safer plane with a small weight increase, and I don't see how it affects planes that meet a lower limit currently.
  15. I wrote a long email to RAA from a manufacturer's point of view and not a single word back to even acknowledge they received it.
  16. Indeed, Youtube is a powerful free marketing tool as are forums and social media, and yet there's literally nothing on them. I have had an engine manufacturer let me know they are willing to put in an effort when (if) my plane kits take off, that's the sort of "get them out there" marketing you do.
  17. Next Wednesday week. After lunch.
  18. Well someone's in trouble then for being overweight and wasting money. Don't ask me, I was busy looking at the flaps as requested at 0.47 seconds.
  19. The MTOW doesn't make sense if it's 12g/8g and 100+hp up front.
