I was expecting the scale of the event to be recognised, 1000 small boats (yeah cgi req'd), 350,000 + rescued. Was a good movie about a small bit of a big event.

I'll take the wrath from my peers, I think everyone should have a radio for reasons as outlined by Pearo, and should be properly trained to use it. Yes the rules say not required and some defend that, but of those above who do support the rule, who chooses not to carry a radio,

Sena SR 10 bluetooth adapter
Cosmick replied to fred cenko's topic in Instruments, Radios and Electronics
Hi Fred, I got the 20s dual pack and installed in helmets for PIC and PAX and have the SR10 with vhf chord from Adrian with the amplifier. All works so well. Very important when first turning on the VHF to precharge the amplifier with a couple second press of the PTT as the amplifier is powered by the SR10. -
We are 5 pages into this discussion, and very interesting it is, I wonder if anyone has decided to change their procedure.

Sad to hear that news, with a punctured lung lucky your still with us. The bones will knit and the pain subside hopefully. The urge to fly won't go away and if your unable to PIC im sure a pax seat will await within our flying community. Best wishes.

That would have to be a mighty GT500 in the trailer. Mick also contact Kevb this forum with the (Mighty) Hornet (Drifter) that he flew from your neck of the woods to Darwin.

1 dead, 1 injured following a powered parachute crash
Cosmick replied to farri's topic in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents
That is it in a nutshell Frank. Just don't put it down in front of a Semi or next to a Croc Glides like a Brick -
I don't put that much trust in the ATSB findings. Myself and Mark Kyle (Kylecom) witnessed a Cessna crash at YCAB some years back and were interviewed separately. We had a little plane model in our hand showing the last moments of flight and impact straight in. When later reading the results of the enquiry they had it cartwheeling down the runway. Mark and I looked at each other and shrugged.

The type involved flies an elliptical wing with a 2 point attachment which can stall. the common machine in Aus the Aerochute has a rectangular wing and 4 point attachment and cannot spin or stall but its not a sporty machine. No fatalities in this type in Aus been available for 30 years. We are now seeing some of this new type in this country requiring significantly more skill to operate. -
Cyclone Debbie! Aircraft Owners,Be Pepared.
Cosmick replied to farri's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Lucky that the Cyclone slowed down and didn't cross till Lunchtime. There is a 5m + difference between high and low tides, High Tide was around 8am and had fortunately subsided prior to the storm surge.
