  1. Thanks for that, now that brings back some sore memories, especally the water landing. Did a lot of that in the 1970's hang gliding, never could land in water gracfully, ha, ha.
  2. Hi Doc, About 18 months ago the EAA mag had somthing about a small aircon unit but have not seen any ads for it. Try EAA web site, there maybe somthing there for you. Bob.
  3. :crazy:Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day, Maureen my wife and I went into town and visited a shop. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, 'Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him an "asshole" . He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires. So Maureen called him a "shit head". He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age. _____

    Zoo

:roflmao:A bloke starts his new job at the zoo and is given three tasks. First is to clear the exotic fish pool of weeds. As he does this a huge fish jumps out and bites him. To show who is Boss, he beats it to death with a spade. Realising his employer won't be best pleased he disposes of the fish by feeding it to the lions, as lions will eat anything. Moving on to the second job of clearing out the Chimp house, he is attacked by the chimps who pelt him with coconuts. He swipes at two chimps with a spade killing them both. What can he do? Feed them to the lions, he says to himself, because lions eat anything. He hurls the corpses into the lion enclosure. He then moves on to the last job which is to collect honey from the Bees. As soon as he starts he is attacked by the bees. He grabs the spade and smashes the bees to a pulp. By now he knows what to do and shovels them into the lions' cage because lions eat anything. Later that day a new lion arrives at the zoo. He wanders up to a resident lion and asks "What's the food like here?” The lions say: "Absolutely brilliant. Today we had Fish and Chimps with Mushy Bees."
  5. Yes Ian, I watch your responces on this site and when i think you need a laugh i send you somthing. Unfortunatly the last thing i was going to send to give you a laugh sorry i broke it, was a dunny mug - a coffee mug shaped like an old dunny for when you are in trouble with "she that must be obayed" Bob.
  6. Hi Ian glad you enjoyed this one. Bob.
  7. Hi, This was the guy that hit the RC aircraft in that other video wasn't he??? Bob.
  8. Hi PF, For a number of years(6 or 7 I think) we stored a 200Lt. drum on a wooden stand, slightly higher than the wing but at a height it was easy to load the drum from the back of a 5ton truck. We had a lockable tap in the small bung and another tap at the other end too and just cracked the big bung to let some air in and just gravity feed the aircraft. We too used the mobile aviation refuellers guide book and quoted that to our local council. As an aside the local building inspector made us put gravel/blue metal under the stand and use a once a year weed killer there too. Bob.
  9. Hi all, just to sidetrack with a funny story. In the 1970's we (Navy Helos)we had deployed Wessex helo's to Coffs Harbour, an extra Wessex was needed there so I flew up in it as Navigator, We had just a short time there to deliver the aircraft and jump on a commercial flight back to Sydney. Guess who forgot to take my flying gear off, (including bone dome)some very worried pax on that flight, ha ,ha. Bob.
  10. Just to add some fun try this????
  11. Hi Lyle, When the skyhawk launched it was ejecting the wire used to catipult it into the air (0-150mph). Yes lands with full or almost full power. The fun bit is a new Tracker pilot doing first land on, as the aircraft hits the deck some tend to raise up out of the seat with a strained look of the face, so funny when it's not you. Skyhawks flaps were painted a brite colour as a safety thing, in low light it is easy to get ground crew trapped in there or head injuries from not ducking the head far enough. I stil cringe when i see that first T&G. Windsor, yes I was, saw the bow half go down then help survivors onto our ship. The Wessex helos did 56 hours flying straight looking for survivers. I was there too when that skyhawk went in. Bob.
  12. Enjoy, near the end is the commanding Officer of the "Tracker" standing on the tail supervising the salt removal wash down. A very young me is in the first 40 seconds a wonderful T&G. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0a-EYVHKtg
  13. Thanks everyone for the imput. My Rotax knowlage is a little dated too, just wanted some thoughts from someone more up to date with 2 stroke. Bob.
  14. Please have a look at this article and give an opinion. Bob. http://curedcomposites.com/twostroke.html
  15. Hi, Was into Emu Park last year in June, landing fee was $5 and the pub that overlooks onto the main beach does a great cheap lunches. The motel(you pass it on the way to the pub) was $90 including a basic breakfast. Bob.
  16. Hi Pud, how about "Hum Dinger" with cartoon art of your wife in the red dress - score the points man! Bob.
  17. HI, I had a VP-1a that I built in 1974 and the 60kts would be at about full throttle unless using the 2Lt VW motor. For what it was it was a magic aircraft, nothing fancy just good fun. I got my name I use here from that aircraft and winter flying. If you want a basic knock about fun aircraft that is it, cheap to fly and easy to build. You just do 50kts here, there and everywhere. Bob.
  18. Hi Guys, Icebob's daughter here, Dad is staying a few days longer in the Cook Island, Mum said she is sick of fish, ha, ha. The caps he got come from www.cpcauto.com.au . Melissa.
  19. Hi Blue, Dad is on holidays on the Cook Islands for ten days, I am his daughter but there is no phone service or internat there, his favorite auto stores are supercheap and repco. Melissa.
  20. Hi Tomo, sure does have a breather hole and a moisture collector under the cap too. Bob.
  21. Hi all, Just to let you know I have had to replace the cap for the 2 stroke oil tank twice both caps cracked and fell off, the first, my fault for tightening too hard, the second one was brittle and sent back(fitted 12 hours prior). Anyway went to a well know auto supply store and they had a nice chrome look one that fitted at about 1/4 of the cost of buying an original replacement and they had other colours too. Bob.

Jamming at the tent with Ian sounds good:chat:, is Ian providing the Port for us all? PS to my first post, built a Volkplane(VP-1a) in 1974, a VP-2 in 1983 was presedent of the Navy gliding club for 4 years got my silver "C", my PPL from 1966, have just over 3000 flying hours in Navy aircraft. Was one of the first hang glider crew at Kurnell sand hills in the 1970's, lost so much fleash there, member of ULAA at Bankstown from 1972 to 1987. Had 1/4 share of building a 40 foot steel yacht and sailed it around the world, only once though. Bob.
