  1. Interesting. I will have to ask rick about this next time I chat with him. with avgas at the price it is I would be cruising a bit slower as well if it was just local area flying. Cheers
  2. Thanks Alf. I would not mind one myself. Would be a great cross country machine at 120 knots! It must be good because Rick's school has once Tecnam and they love it so much they want to buy another one.

  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoiC1TV6OCg I believe this is an Alpha 160 from Red Baron used in this clip. http://www.redbaron.com.au/aircraft
  7. Great choice! I like that its such a solid looking aircraft. Best of luck
  8. Very interesting post. I certainly could think of better things to do with 800 pounds but I guess its all personal choice and if you have the 'play money' for this then why not. Another way to blow some cash would be to do what Andy did in Russia - Check out 37:30 of this youtube video for Andy's flight. Would you trust that the jets are maintained well enough to do this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkpWpbL8T_A
  9. Nice video. Glad to see that you are getting to fly regularly! Looked like a very smooth landing and nicer weather this time. Would be interesting if you could somehow show some of the ATIS information (i.e.: wing direction and speed) on the screen for each takeoff and landing to see what conditions you are encountering or just put them in the show notes (don't worry if this is too much hassle)? Keep up the great work!
  10. Thanks. Have some interesting interviews lined up for this weekend: - interview with an aerobatic pilot and flight school owner - interview with a cirrus instructor and glass cockpit expert Shoukd be interesting!
  11. Welcome! I agree with all of ayavners comments. Also jabs are awesome in my humble opinion! At the end of the day when you make your decision on ra v rpl/ppl start as soon as you can as flight training always takes longer than you think. Best of luck
  12. Welcome! Sounds like a great idea! That glasair looks awesome. I bet you cosomeould civet some ground at 130 knots. have you looked at the rv range. They seem like they may suit your requirement. I like this website for aircraft reviews: http://www.bydanjohnson.com/
