  1. My Petroni is a 2 blade on a 3300, I am most curious about others experiences using the 3m propeller tape.
  2. Anjum I enjoy your posts. Opinions are like ......... well you know. Stick with it.
  3. Pre flight this morning at Innaminka ready for a sunrise flight to Stephens Creek just out of Broken Hill. Others in the group continued home to Wentworth and Mildura ending a 3 day run via White Cliffs - Thargomindah - Innaminka. Watched the sunrise and moon set both at the same time from 6500ft all with a 30 knot tailwind. Sunshine with a good morning kiss for the Strzelecki Desert sand dunes. Lunch at Stephens Creek with the Silver City Recreational Aircraft Club.
  4. I have a Petroni Propeller on my Jabiru. Operating from mostly dirt strips and would like to reduce the constant little touch ups. Heard about 3m propeller tape and have sound advice to only run it half an inch over the leading edge so performance isn't impacted. Interested to hear about other experiences using this tape when using strips which are unkind to props. Any photos of application and Australian suppliers would be helpful.
  5. Hope nobody minds that I would like to share my experience I have had dealing with this Aussie business based in Victoria. I have a Punkin Head Cover for my Jabiru 430 which is hard wearing and very well made. I have had a very good experience dealing with this Australian business. They make heaps of covers and accessories for many aircraft types including GA and microlights. I have no interest in the business except my dealings with them purchasing and using their product. Did I mention the fact they are Australian....of course I did! Contact details are Dianne McNamara Punkin Head Air Sports Hangar 28, 51 John Duigan Drive Yarrawonga, VIC. 3730 0429 938 426 03 5744 1990.
  6. GR 912 25 698 after being taken back to bones is starting to go back together with fabric being applied today. Plenty still to go but a fabulous experience to be part of.
  7. Congratulations Nico13 ... flying never gets old. GO THE CATS !
  8. I list my airport details in three categories as custom entries in Ozrunways. 1st group are ones I use and know are good. 2nd are strips I know are in use by the owner/operator and 3rd are strips I have plotted roughly (with my finger on the ipad when seen from the air) for emergency reference. Most strips I plot have no code or name as they are private bush strips. I do not know the degree of serviceability of most in the 2nd or 3rd group and as such I would never attempt to use these without further investigation/permission - unless I was having a crisis. Most of my flying is in remote areas.
  9. There are dozens of unpublished private bush/farm/station strips across the country which are not on maps. In my area I have many of these stored for my own use and I imagine other pilots would do a similar thing in their areas. There is no certainty as to the serviceability of many of these strips but in a pinch would give other options. I would love to be able to access an "at your own risk" list of strips for other areas for use in an emergency situation. It may even be possible for the info to be updated in a similar manner to which Ian alludes for his idea for known airfields where additional details could be updated if known. My navigator is not always that reliable as illustrated!
  10. Found this ipad holder which works really well in practice. Heavy duty clip allows flexibility for your own circumstances. Pictured here in my Jabiru 430d. I now have 22 other variants available for sale after ongoing attempts to find one that works! I prefer it mounted, as opposed to knee pad. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172122201777?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT this is the one I purchased. It is described on ebay as Lazy desktop 360 Rotating Bed Tablet Mount Stand Holder for Apple iPad & Mini AUon ebay. (Just in case the link doesn't work). Apologies in advance if this is placed in the wrong spot.
  11. Hi Warwick here, I was reading on another forum you had a 3 blade prop on a 230. I have just ventured into the Jabiru world and am having a new camit installed. I operate out of a dirt strip and was wondering if a 3 blade would help minimise stone damage or do you think the difference would not be worth bothering with. Thanks in advance for an opinion.
