Its funny how us aviation enthusiasts can look at something that looks like an overgrown balsa model or in the case of a tube frame a mechano kit and call it a thing of beauty and craftsmanship, and yet when most of us show our wives/girlfriends/partners, all they see is a jumble of sticks and steel. I wont tell you what I say when my missus asks me how she looks after an hour of make up and hair do. PS..... my apologies to all those wonderful women out there, especially my wife as this post was sent in jest.
  2. Was speaking to Kev today after a training flight about this post and he asked me to mention that all his students learn to take off and land at Lynfield and all within the 20hr period. I for one wouldn't have it any other way and will most likely make it the home field for my own planes.

  7. All my training flights start and end there and it sure does look narrow when coming in on final. A powered approach is always used when landing at Lynfield. It makes for good practice on keeping to the centre line and really makes you use the rudder.

  18. It's all well and good to sit back and criticize a person , but unless we have been there and tried it ourselves then who are we to throw stones. Maybe we should just say thanks Wayne for your efforts and we hope the next to fill the position works as hard to get RAAUS rego's back on track.
  19. Hey Wayne..... Can a wire braced Maxair Drifter with a 503 installed that was 10.xxxx registered be registered in the 19.xxxx category with a second seat and controls
  20. My Corella uses a thin fiberglass and polycarbonate at the front of the fuselage as well and Dacron pre sewn wing skins that uses straps with cam locks to pull on tight
  21. Ailerons, rudder, elevators. throttle.............the whole shebang.
