  1. I have to disagree re: my representative was very quick in getting back to me. I am now waiting on president for a response. Not all the board reps should be tarnished, some I think do a very good job.
  2. I am now at the point of deciding if I continue with my membership to RA. I personally don't see any personal gain in continuing to fly with RA. The risks are too damn high these days (re: legal matter, groundings etc). Will probably just complete my ppl instead.
  3. That's why this forum is here. For questions like this.
  4. They are gorgeous. I still want one.
  5. Can I just say.... I don't think targeting the board is necessarily correct. I think (correct me if i'm wrong) but the exec is more to blame for this. I know some on the board may even support what we are saying here.
  6. A big job that should never have needed to be done
  7. Is there more than usual or am I tripping
  8. Hi all, I was thinking there seems to have been a huge number of accidents this year, in both ra and ga.
  9. I can't believe that they didn't know this was going to happen. I believe we have a right to know why and what was done to rectify the cause before this happens.
  10. That sounds awesome. Shame could never happen here. Fun police wouldn't like that.
  11. Btw I've sent an internal air services Email with suggestions... Ie. Access without logging in etc
  12. You are two years to early. I've always wanted one of these
  13. Also Nong, is it really safe to just google Area 30 NOTAM? How can you be sure you were reading the latest one? Is this in the best interests of safety? Just some food for thought. I'm pretty sure AIP doesn't list Google as a sufficient source for pre-flight briefings.
  14. Well obviously you weren't being lazy and the comment didn't apply to you. I wasn't directing to anyone in particular, just a general feeling I Got from the thread.
  15. Understandable if you are unable to access pre-flight then no worries. But the system seems to be working now so surely this will not be necessary any more...
  16. God, you're as sensationalistic as Ben Sandilands. You know that this is not the case. Poorly rolled out, maybe, but noone was sitting in ASA wondering how they could possibly reduce air safety. And spare a thought for the boys and girls in the en-route control room that are suffering from this also. The worst thing you could do is make their workload higher. Now if we stop the extremism... I accessed the briefing using my old login for the asa pilot briefing, quick update of my details and I was able to access all the info. Took all of 5 mins. Anyone who sits there and says "Well I will just get it en-route cause I'm too lazy to log in" needs to have a long hard think about this. I think taking this route IS indeed a deliberate move to reduce air safety. Shame to make this post my 1000th...
  17. 1. More dependant on aircraft capabilities than any legislation reuirement. That's why your ifr. 2. As someone has said you will have entered a flight plan. If in class D you will exit ad area using local instructions. If in G you will exit however you please and let ATC know (request tfc, Time of departure etc). Then we know you are there and can pass traffic and other information. 3. See 2. 4. I'll leave to an IFR pilot to answer. Hope this helps. I think the most important thing here is that you have to have a flight plan lodged to fly IFR. That should clear up most of your questions.
  18. What class airspace are we talking about so we can answer appropriately. Item 2 and 3 will depend.
  19. There is a doco called Barnstorming. I am waiting for my copy to arrive. Looks really good.
  20. And on the cost to fly.... Only expensive because most GA run old cessna's or tommohawks etc. I think more VH rego'd tecnams etc will be setup in the future (no reason not to) and the flying will be just as cheap. I believe there already are a number of these. Of course if you own your own, surely the costs are the same?
  21. So just to sum up so far... Medical MAY be an issue to some people (those with diabetes). Anything else?
  22. LOL. Yeah Ian. You need to upkeep the integrity of this forum
  23. I'll stick with Air Traffic Controller thanks ;)
