Any idea what sort of aircraft? None of news reports say. And we all know news reporters think an ultralight is anything up to a dash8

Jesus Kev, Man up! Just kidding, we've all had that sinking feeling where you are wondering if those little bolts will hold the magical planks keeping us aloft. Only thing I can suggest, as above, early morning is the best (i find even late afternoon can be a pain sometimes). Also take note of the terrain you are flying over, avoid the thermals etc. Slow down also and the flight should be a bit smoother.

Legend Wayne. Makes a huge amount of sense now. Thanks. So every GA Aircraft i've flown has differential brakes, all the RA's do not (as discussed though some do). How much extra weight or cost would they add. If I were to look at a Cheetah kit, how much extra to get a differential brake kit?

Sorry guys, I really don't understand the difference between differential brakes and the "other" brakes. Can someone dumb it down for me at all?

Seems strange. Never would have thought they would cause a weight issue (Can't be too much more than the hand brakes). Any thoughts?

Guys this is great. Makes me very jealous that you just taxi out the back of the house for a flight and I have to drive an hour and a bit... Great looking strips all. Will have to visit some of them some time.

@downundertrucker: Do you like the EZ's? I've always liked the look of them ever since I saw one at Archerfield.

There is a more detailed thread in the governing bodies forum. I highly doubt we will find out the legal issue (Secret squirrel business and all). The only affect I can see the RPL having on RAAus will be losing some members (already discussed why I would change quite quickly). Cheers, Shags
