  1. Lets seperate lsa and little stuff...
  2. Some great points in that newsletter.
  3. You're using an apple product...
  4. I really wish I had the time to put into trying to be elected. If I wasn't doing the ATC course I wouldn't hesitate to put my hand up.
  5. I don't want to wait for AGM while we continue to pay for solicitors...
  6. The stakes for the board aren't really that high... Ian gets memebership. The stakes for Ian are high... Continue flying. Given that the stakes for the board are so low (unless there is a reason they are not telling us for them being higher) then what reason do they really have not to say anything. In this case using legal advice that you aren't allowed to say anything is a cop out.
  7. Ok, so as concerned members. What should we do? Should we: a) Contact our representatives for answers (re: the letters at the start of this post) b) Raise our concerns by email to the President and hope they are answered at the AGM c) Something else... d) all of the above
  8. Well IFR is allowed to be 75ft out till first landing then if not 60ft out is u/s ;)
  9. Again, does anyone know if the Elected Reps have been made aware of this situation by the board?
  10. Agreed. I will actually make an effort to get to the AGM this year.
  11. Question: Are the elected reps aware that all this is happening?
  12. Once again we are talking an incorporated association that helps everyone to fly. There should NOT be any legal action at all. The board should give Ian his membership. Simple as that. Just a side thought, if Ian has supposedly bought RAAus into disrepute, have they thought about all the positive things that he has done for the association?
  13. Hi Frank, there is much discussion earlier in the thread. The issue was that Ian was applying for membership again after letting it lapse. Being a "new" member it had different rules. If he was just renewing his membership, would have been a different matter.
  14. That's why there is less error allowed on IFR than VFR.
  15. I disagree. This should not be a legal issue. There should be no legal process. Our member fees are being wasted on ridiculous decisions made by board members who are clearly out with some sort of vendetta. We are all members of RAAus and I don't believe anyone on here thinks Ian brings the organisation into disrepute. I think it's about time the board started listening to the members and doing what they were elected to do. MADDOG: are you an elected state rep? If so why have you not heard of this till a member has emailed you (not having a go at you). I would have thought the CEO or president would have notified the Elected Reps of this as soon as the issue escalated?
  16. Whistleblower legislation only works in government employ. Raaus is an incorporated association so the leg doesn't apply.
  17. DTI is the first thing ATC learns to do in the sims. Don't be afraid to ask them. They may get a bit stroppy if busy with other stuff but they will answer when they can.
