  1. There is NO Jan magazine.. The Dec one covers both months. Next mag will be Feb. 11 mags per year.
  2. Ian...UP the price to two dollars and see if they will take up your revised offer??? I think after the EGM they might be looking for all the help they can get. Cheers to you and Corin and thanks for all the work you are doing to this site.
  3. Phil....the same is the case in NZ Where the Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) investigate as per your CAA. By publishing accident causes, it is hoped lessons will be learned and accidents reduced hence cost affective.
  4. Exactly motz. Thats why I asked the question. Would also be nice to know wht happened off Sydney's Northern beaches with the Lightwing?
  5. Add VK4DKI to the list as well. Trust you are getting some energy back there Mark
  6. the cygnet was a two seat side by side a/c with a shoulder wing. Usually had a VW type engine or small cont etc. there is one flying in the SI of NZ. They look like a Bolkow 208 junior but have the Tail wheel. 4130 tube fuse and tail feathers. Wood wing and all fabric covered. http://www.pixstel.com/hapi-cygnet-g-byyc_urlb13807.php?db=3 Cheers
  7. Problem is, we will most likely here nothing more as to cause. Seems that ASRA can advise their members of accidents / incidents and probable cause BUT RAAus seem to find excuses as to why "they" can't comment. Has any body heard anything more re the cause of the Trike accident near Temora last year?
  8. Good to see you back in the workshop Mark even IF your back is to the radios. Won't be long and you will be donning the headset and heading for the sky. Talk soon on the other mode. Cheers
  9. Windsor, I also tend to agree that the curent exec have candidates in mind for both positions and have had so for a while. Watch this space.
  10. Well HITC, The icy cold beer was nice. The barra still to be caught. Now that we have a general idea of the project, how long before we can see some line drawings? Really looking forward to future progress on this one. Cheers
  11. Hi GG, I am about to put together a Rans S6ES as a family project. When we send in the paperwork we will name all those who contributed to the build. This will be my wife and two adult sons. Both my sons will then learn to fly in the aircraft once the aircraft has been fully "registered" i.e. the 25 hours have been flown off.
  12. I understand that any person on the "build" list can learn to fly in that aircraft.
  13. I think from memory (2004) that we did use aeroshell 100 for the run in period. Was what Jab said to use anyway then went onto the W100. This engine was being operated as per Jabiru instructions as we were right there at Bundy under their supervision including the build. Cheers
  14. Camel, Thanks for your input. I had a J160 few years back. Built from a kit when we lived in Bundaberg and flown from there until sold in 2008. My engine was a 2200 with solid lifters and the earlier heads (thicker fins)and we had to do a top overhaul at 150 hours due low compressions. We ran that engine on Shell W100 from new. Can you advise what type and grade of oil you are now finding is better? I am surprised you have managed to get the compressions back up with out any other work. Cheers
  15. HITC, I have been thinking....like alot of the others on this thread...Are you looking at folding the fuselage by any chance?? If the fuselage folded just aft of the wing then it would fold parallel with one or other of the wings. The aircraft would then fit onto a trailer sideways. This may be another reason for you thinking "tricycle" undercarriage. I might be way off here but throwing in the idea anyway.... Cheers
  16. I know Howard. He is back as CP for Heliwork. Alligator are no longer. Closed down by CASA last April then failed when the banks moved in. I have held a CPL(A) since the early 70's but haved not been doing any commercial flying up here. Cheers
  17. I had guessed from what you had written on this thread so far that "swinging" the wing was not an option hence me mentioning it to get your response. Guess that leaves the option of folding in the vertical like your current project and of course what Sonex with their "Onex" have done. Re Kunnu's. All good. Came up here in Jan 08 for what was to be 15 months managing the Argyle Diamond mine aerodrome facility. It has now been 5 years but we are heading back to Bundaberg later this year. I have a Rans S6ES kit to put together and the RV9a we have owned for a number of years to fly more frequently than has been lately. I guess you flew for Slingair / Heliwork?? I know a few of the guys there. Anyway back to the topic of discussion. Cheers
  18. HITC, would it be possible to come up with a bolted together frame and have sail cloth covering along the lines of the Xair or Skyranger? The wings could be designed to swing back like the Skyfox. This may not achieve your ideal "folded" dimensions though. I will be following this thread with interest and some good ideas have already put forward. I have also been following your AssieMozzie thread on the "other" Forum . A great project but not as simple as you are looking for. Will still be great to see it flying.
  19. G'day Bones, maybe give Skyshop a call. 1300 Nr from link below. They ship direct from Aircraft Spruce and might be quicker and cheaper. http://www.aircraftspruce.com.au/Contact.asp Cheers
  20. I agree BP, A few months back I was doing some research into the Savannah and spoke with both the importer and the distributor you mention re MTOW of Savannahs here in Aus. I could not get a straight answer from either nor were they very interested in helping. Needles to say I have gone no further. Cheers
  21. This comes as a shock to me Mark. To think I was only talking to you a day or two earlier and you were telling me all about the things you were going to do around the block and how you were going to enjoy and relax on your break up there. Hope all goes well with the surgery. The annual DME visit to maintain my class 1 allways gives me piece of mind after seeing the ECG results. I will try and keep a class 2 as a minimum for as long as I can just for the regular doctors visit. Cheers
  22. Jim, you must have ALL the information on a subject that you are to consider before you can support or not that information. I can't believe that you are being denied information and if this is the case with you then probably the case with other reps as well. Who in the exec is deciding what information you should have? Sounds like th OLD school keeping things to themselves STILL.
  23. That is alot less numbers than the 13000 that seems to have been quoted over the last year or so which equates to much less income than I thought. Probably explains why there was NO nice calendar with the Dec Mag.
  24. I bet that board member was looking to have as many members as he/she could round up to vote for the board position!
  25. Mick, I think you are right on the money there. Do you know if Rip now has a lease at MB for his maint bus? He was getting ready to shift away or close. Cheers
