  1. Sounds like you will be ready when the Sav is Mark. Good luck with the training. Cheers
  2. Just what we have fitted in our RV9A. Work great! Cheers
  3. Congratulations Robyn. You will enjoy the RV9A I am sure. They are a great aircraft. Cheers
  4. Probably would not say even if they did due to the privacy laws! This is the sort of thing that should be posted on the web site to stop rumours. Does there have to be an acting Tech Manager appointed to allow RAAus to continue operating under the CASA "Instrument" authorising RAAus Operations? Cheers
  5. XAIRTVW. This is correct however, when talking with CASA a while back, they said that when they issued the new "instrument" last year it was intended that when an aircraft was sold by the builder then the builder was not to do maintenance (issue a maintenance release) on that aircraft and all maintenance would be carried out by a LAME so we may see a change in the future. I understand that any LAME can do the work and he/she does not have to be operating under a maintenance AOC. Cheers
  6. Yes Ozzie, it was Auckland. The cable was not able to supply the "current" demand. I think there was some power supplied from a ships gen but not for very long. A new cable was run into the city alongside a rail line in super quick time. Cheers
  7. Just what I have wanted to see for along time David. Lets push this one and see if we can get some action along the lines suggested. Cheers Mike Kununurra WA
  8. I have an annual done on my experimental registered aircraft every year. This is carried out by a LAME. A new Maintenance release is placed in the flight manual. This allows the aircraft to fly again for another 12 months or 100 hours which ever comes first and subject to any other conditions that may be required e.g. daily preflight. A copy may go to CASA but I don't pay a fee to the LAME for it if it does. Provided the maintenance release is all in order then there should be no problem (aircraft wise) if a CASA ramp inspection was to take place. Can someone advise what paperwork is required to be sent in with the registration fee to re register an RAA aircraft? It has been a while since I owned a RAA aircraft (Jabiru). If I remember correctly an annual had to be carried out and an entry made in the Maintenance Log. This Log was not tied in with the annual registration of the aircraft in any way from memory. Other than a registration card displayed on the aircraft what else actually states that that aircraft is fit to fly should a RAA or CASA deligate take a look at the paperwork? There might be a simple answer. Cheers Mike
  9. Very interesting IF this is in fact the case Tomo. We will await a ruling from RAA headquarters. Might take a while though! If this guy is in fact legal I bet we will see a rule change probably quicker than updating the register. Cheers Mike
  10. Sue, if the register was up to date with every new registration issue (with as much detail as is currently published) and aircraft remained registered until cancelled by the owner then we would not have this current issue of expired registrations on a register that can't be kept up to date for what ever reason! Cheers Mike
  11. Don, I dont have any problem with having my aircraft ownership available. It is no different to NZ, USA Canada or a lot of other places. What I do disagree with is that because the RAA list is so secret that those who should be paying landing fees to keep aerodromes open often grizzle about continual aerodrome closures. I know of plenty of aircraft RAA up here (YPKU) not getting billed whereas I always pay my $22.00 landing fee here and else where. Cheers Mike.
  12. Very good point Dazza. I have often wondered that myself. Once an aircraft is registered VH there is nothing more to pay until change of ownership etc. What do RAA actually do with respect to any registration paperwork. They certainly don't up date the register once payment is received! Cheers
  13. Hi ignition, we have a block just out of Bundaberg Qld and plan to put in a grass strip. Hangar will also be a farm shed! The block is scrubby regrowth and we have council approval to re clear but intend to just clear a strip we call a fire break. Cheers
  14. With the (published) register 12 months out of date, we can't be sure that the aircraft has not been re registered in the meantime. I emailed the RAA CEO and Office a month or two back re out of date info (register amongst other things) on the web site and have YET to receive a REPLY. It's making the new RPL look better. Cheers

  16. Hi Ian, Yes site was down around 9PM (1300Z) last evening WA time. . Could not connect to server at all. Cheers
  17. She's coming together very nicely Mark. Still looking for sometime in March to fly her? Cheers from Kununurra.
  18. We need to lobby harder John to get reports out (even if preliminary) as soon as possible after an accident / incident. As TP stated in post 9 "shortly after landing the aircraft veered to the right, hit a ditch and went arx up" Was the aircraft landing with a tail wind, too fast, lost directional control etc etc?
  19. Welcome Flying Mum. Good to see you back flying after a number of years. You certainly have a few choices of aircraft to fly. Does the flying school just have the Skyfox? Cheers
  20. As I said in Post 116 above. All did not look well re the registration (or lack of). Another GOOD reason to have up to date Rego info on the RA AUS website. This can not be too hard to do I am sure. Even if the list was updated once a week would be better than once a year!
  21. Latest update and photo http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/story/2012/01/05/four-escape-as-plane-crashes/ Looks like a C182?
  22. Couldn't agree more Turbo. I have been pushing this one for along time. It was good to see that ATSB got involoved in the Old Bar indicent and look at the discussion that has created in these forums.
  23. From the photos, the rego looks like 10-312. A post above suggested it was 10-302. A quick check of the RAAus Register does not show 10-312 exists. The register however, has not been updated since 31st Jan 2011. This is another area that could be kept up to date. It can't be too difficuilt to have the Register "live".
  24. I wonder IF there will be public / government pressure to have the ATSB look at this one?? Probably not. Cheers
