  1. these 'big birds' obviously have smoke or heat detection systems - what sort of fire suppression systems do they have ? ............... and at altitude is there any oxygen to burn ?
  2. boat 804 - F is the next letter after E (Egypt) .................... cooukie (not spooky)
  3. would they have to be 5 commercial pilots ? ............................. or would PPL's be able to handle the added responsibility of smoke coming out the exhaust ? (curious about that)
  4. nice one Bula ! ................. tell us the planes you have and a rough hire rate (s)
  5. yes sealed side - between o-ring and fuel think it might be just a locator - so cap goes into socket true ?
  6. Ayecapt ................ try this if you like ? - its worked for a lot of others remove cap (or course) tip cap upside down (of course) on base of cap - now on top cause you have tipped it over (of course) you will see a thin white / pvc plastic disc (diameter of cap) - if you use a sharp knife you can trim the excess that overhangs the edge of cap - like peeling an apple - no lubricant required
  7. Caravan or Porter ..................... don't matter - Mikes getting paid for it - nice scenery, people and food Can just about speak the language Mike - nice videos Mike

  12. now that's a classic looking plane Jason - any specs ? - pax's, speed, weight and motor ? thanks
  13. 'At no point are you supposed to die during this phase, but there's not much room for error' - well put Sorry Dutch - for those with lower smarts ................ theoretically: - can there be a difference between V1 & V2 - is (or could there be with some aircraft) there a 'zone' between the 2 - or is it, when you get to V1, you are guaranteed to get to V2
  14. ...... plough the ground Roundsounds (not plough into it) - a farmer ploughs / furrows the ground V1 is a decision speed - go or stop V2 is fly away safely Between V1 & V2 (assuming they are different speeds ?) you are going back to the ground Correct or wrong ??????????
  15. .................. Just to get a better understanding of this - below V1 - an airline pilot can handle an engine out - they can stop on the strip or an overshoot area ? Between V1 & V2 - its a metal tube that might plough the grouund ? - not good to have an engine out in this zone At V2 you can fly away to safety (relative safety) Thanks
  16. a while back I was talking to a colleague about 'who was the person that attempted suicide' (I did not know who it was). The person stated it was them. I talked through it the best I could and was pleased I did (we did not discuss if they had sort professional help) .................. if I had of known it was that person that tried to suicide would I have approached them ? - I hope I would have I'd suggest that most of us would avoid that person as we would assume 'others are dealing with it'
  17. don't go to close for my sake :D ............................ nice to see some cb's and some horizon if you see any (like you have been) thanks FHWM
  18. Nice videos flyhighwithmike Nice landscapes and clouds assuming you fly IFR but are too busy then to film thanks

  23. Thanks OME ...................... if I am ever in front of the man with the dead sheep skin on his cranium - I'll remember 5L
  24. .................. OK, if I had a flying flea (a plane) - and I could fly to some place and back (with either a cost saving in time or even a cost saving in something that created an income (perhaps delivering something I owned)) ........... then that plane has derived (or helped derive) an income - so it must be fair game as a tax deduction ? makes no difference if its got Qantas on the side or RAA numbers
