if you lived downwind from a wind farm (and this could be a certain separation distance) (experienced this at a camping ground) ................ found them to be annoying at best - they seem to create a 'pulse' or a 'resonance' in the air - banging the palm of your hand on each side of your head does not alleviate the problem
Ahoy Cropmaster .................. here is the reply from the bloke in the middle (its ZK CPW) - pilot who ended up with 30K + hours !
'Hi John, Air Services had ZK-CPW in May 1969 while Agwagon ZK-CSF was repaired after an engine failure after take -off. Lovely aircraft to fly very light in the controls.
cheers
Robert'
Beaver at back is ZK CKH - cowls off - RHS bloke is the engineer ............. no doubt fixing it
Good luck with your restoration
and ................................. we all have a differing opinion but it has been proved on this site that a button that indicates dislike, or such other negative inference, will quickly transform many forum members into sword fighting rock throwers ............... and worse
such a button would have consequences way more dire than what 'post 1' will ever generate
there is always an 'area / zone' out there where a speeding ticket guarantee is assured (all over the joint - over a blind rise then down a hill etc)
if say someone was injured or property was damaged in that zone ................. it would make an interesting court case if it was proven that the police had written (or speed camera'red) hundreds (thousands) of infringement notices - but not done anything else (other than collect the money)
............ just collected the revenue but not considered how to make that particular 'zone' safer
stay at 600 kg's and dodge all the red tape I say
with each increment increase in weight, red tape will surely increase
if people insist on it (why not you'd say ......... if you fly heavier metal) < than 600 can be the ultralight class - > than 600 can be the heavylight class
but then you have 2 classes ........... more red tape
interesting bit of information
mid air collision 2300 ft and landed it
attachment is best I can do (would like to know how you can paste direct to the page)
other factors I know but in regards to registration .................... weight of engine (assuming this engine) ................ 163 kilos dry (info below)
http://www.supermarineaircraft.com/options-v6-engine
Apart from issues regarding the aircraft ............. on page 30 the coroner states that RA-Aus needs to implement better systems to identify aircraft that might not fit RA-Aus rego requirements (weight etc) - seems not many people were aware that the 544 kg weight limit was exceeded (plane weighed +750 kgs) ........................... RA-Aus relied on kg weight from the registration certificate
Also RA-Aus management changed (page 31) (an allegation of change) what the RA-Aus investigator said - if RA-Aus ever edit an investigators findings - it must be noted somewhere in the RA-Aus report
whats this about Kiwi's and sheep ?
....................... and for that matter I'm pacing out the local football field tonight - sheep are currently grazing on it - but I can't imagine its 0.70 km's long
'The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field'
Kyle Comm - assuming that is $ 250 / month per space (not entire 'angar) - interested to know - thanks
(= $ 57 / week - if there is demand a hangar seems a good investment)
..... best value & $ / hr dual
by choosing $ 130 instead of $ 180 / hr dual does not mean you guaranteed of getting all the required value
I'd say the instructor / student relationship between each is probably more important than the $ number (your relationship with the instructor is more important than the other way round (not being an instructor but I guess this is true)) - the club activity can be important to some but not to others
I always have thought that when you learn - if things are not working out, it should be no big deal trying another instructor and seeing if things improve - you'll probably have a fair idea whether you getting value for money (irrespective of $) after a few hours dual (or any time really) ............ also after comparing notes with other students in other schools. You should not feel duty bound to stick with any school from go to woe
Bruce Knowles raises a point to remember ........... owners shouldn't be suggesting jab owners are the cause of engine problems because of the way they do things .......... no one can make that generalisation (some owners might do the wrong thing - but not all - as with all aircaft / mechanics)
thou smites an aero club ..................... thee not knowest who - thee needs not, to know
like all things human - people see the good and bad in any / every club
but, its not illegal to look through rose colored glasses, but
