  1. yes paper edition is the only way - never have bothered reading an electronic CASA mag Having said that everything seems to be going electronic ......................... it seems a 'race to the bottom' in costs savings these days it seems that shortly there will be no need for a footpath - just supply enough room for a dirty great big computer cable up and down the street In relation to voting - I've been a member for 7 years (guessing) and never voted - I have never seen any issue yet that requires my vote and am happy with the way things currently are (or turn out to be) - maybe in semi-retirement there will be time to ponder all the steady organisational argie bargie that can be read here. To the board members and voting members - keep the good work going
  2. every miserable cloud has a silver lining
  3. yes school aircraft should get inside TBO parameters easy - you'd think I am just thinking about mountains of private use 912 engines - piles & piles of them because they never got enough hours on them but they got to the 12 or 15 year time limit - what fate is in store here ?
  4. so there is a unlikely possibility ! that owners (particularly private use) could be told to throw a 912 away if it reaches TBO ? a much more expensive motor if you don't use the hours ? .............. is that's what being said here ?
  5. ............ or pokeawallaby (jabaru)
  6. nice to read some positive optimistic's .................... thanks all, Maj & others
  7. thanks Nev - a good opening there ... she a laying on a kitchen table in the Himalayas
  8. before you fly next ......................... readjust that chin strap hylife
  9. the legalese ................. is written for the continued interpretation and employment of the legal profession ?
  10. most ultralights could easily carry 70 - 100 litres of water - 100 litres for aerial spraying would be a handy amount (a tigermoth only carried 250 kilos ? and they were considered OK at the time) In NZ applying aerial spray from an ultralight was allowed (I think) - if you owned the land Interesting to know what countries allow it - sure bet Australia would not ?
  11. photo's attached are a broken in flight prop ................ in the circuit Carbs were pulled out by vibration !
  12. Same here Mr. Completeaerogeek - a good thread and please persist - ........................ the conclusion could be a best seller
  13. ozzie if you had of been dealt house loans you would of been a banker if if you had of been dealt kill the taxman, you would of been an accountant there'd probably be similar forums for the above 2 subjects ........................ but they'd be dry and boring we are all just basking in completeaerogeeks dealing of aerodynamics (I think that's the name of the subject)
  14. refreshing view point completeaerogeek – you’re like a brand new ball in a bowling alley strking 10 I’ll be re-reading it all to try and get a handle on it - thanks
  15. were they swimming west .................. or east ?
  16. I'm with you - go get 'em Completeaerogeek

  19. go get 'em .................. Adam
  20. I never fill out a survey that were there is no scope to put your own comment in (assuming this survey one was the same) I think such surveys are deriving and answer the the surveyor wants to hear (or use)
  21. could she borrow someone else's card and if interrogated (not likely) .................. then explain that the borrower said it was OK ?
  22. stupid stories ........................... it'd make a good thread dutchroll - we'd all like to hear some ? - I can see the sensitivity of your position though ! its pretty obvious that the majority of airline messages are legal cover / disclaimer. I myself would not mind one announcement that encapsulates it all 'welcome aboard this flight to XXXXX, be warned that if you are concussed, injured, burnt, broken, scalded, poisoned, infected, assaulted, insulted, annoyed, aggravated (etc), during or while arriving within and / or departing any airport terminal, this aircraft or any transport system involved in your travel - then this airline will not enter into any further discussion - you are on your own dearest passenger - assuming that you will enjoy your flight as best you can ........................ if you arrive at your destination safely '
  23. sleep ......... sleeping on the airlines ! - seat belt / cabin warning buzzer every 30 minutes - if there is no warning required - press it anyway - overhead lockers that have latches - they don't need to be slammed - slam it anyway - cabin speakers turned up too loud that your ears ring - turn it up loud anyway - patronising messages stating that you can't smoke in the plane, toilet or terminal (why say it ?) - say in anyway - turn it up loud anyway
  24. geotechnical prize: Prof Mud Walla's comprehensive thesis confirming that dust, is in fact only mud, with all the juice squeezed out
  25. specify nothing specifically ............. but, encompass the whole thing (an unknown things) in a performance requirement that has to be achieved - yuck
