  1. see below - have not seen any talk here on this subject ???????????? ............. looks like RAAI are informing aircraft owners to contact them with any adjustable prop http://www.raa.asn.au/2013/02/lsas-with-in-fligh-adjustable-prop/
  2. Yeah .................... I don't think we actually earn money We just collect it, manage it (as best we can) & distribute it to others - somewhere along the way it has to be taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed and taxed
  3. good video & viewpoint Mark what I remember said in it was .................. 'the burden of responsibility we have for others when we take them flying' (including ourselves - when solo) ............ keep it safe aviators
  4. Engine stoppage due to carb-mount rubber failure or leakage (Maj (or someone)) The 750 hr 912 we have has had the carbs off and the rubbers appear sound, pliable and sealed - irrespective of that should they still be replaced ? thanks
  5. I'm with you Bryon ................ water bruises the whiskey - best served with some ice (pretending the ice is not water ........................ though)
  6. Easy Phil mate - those others are perfection personified ......................... to get to that level requires ................... Regarding your crash sequence I wonder if the stewards call button was operational at the end - you could then merely alert the stewardess that there was sand all over the airline food and could they please supply more
  7. .................. all the way with LBJ L et's B eckon J abiru
  8. Crikey .......................... brutus maximus
  9. good reminder Nunans I also fly ULTRALIGHTS and don't wish that I'd like to be flying a bonanza (or a turbine) - mind you if you do fly an expensive bird ............................... nothing wrong with that either [My solisitor reminds all persons reading this message that flying is inherently costly (including ultralights - particularly insured ones) and that any inference that there is cheaper form of flying (compared to another (or any other) form of flying) is based purely on comparative personal relative base costs bases and socio ecomnomic factors]
  10. give us a name Mr Rat ................................. give us a name ? most of us in the outer colonies know not the names of the movements of these gods of power ....................... and in regards to annual licensing - it does appear like a load of horsesh1t (sorry horsefeathers) to me
  11. Bubble boy Allow some time for the drive to Blenheim ................ lots to see - lots of sheep (you can chase them in the paddocks ......................................... they don't mind ) Might see you there - I can stay with dear old Ma Looks like you can fly Brisbane to Blenheim (via Auckland) return for $ 850 Is that DH Mosquito going to be there ? - that would be a decider for me
  12. if you are by an external window ............... try and not do this subconciously - but look outside very quickly ............... they are sometimes there
  13. Bubbles also ............ fly to wellington - good spot - direct flight to woodborne ? (blenheim) takes about 20 minutes - then about 10 minutes by car to omaka (classic fighters) buy a pushbike and you'll be the fastest traveller to the airshow also you can walk the river and jump and few fences - its a bit shorter accommodation in Blenheim at easter ? don't know
  14. good thread maj good to have some / a summary of the 912 knowledge - thanks ................ no 912 bashing yet
  15. for fear of being vaporised ..... most earthling / alien contact is not discussed
  16. Good work Viper (the aircraft insurance Co might not be pleased but any life insurance Co will have a smile from ear to ear) How did the inside floor of the cock pit hold up to the landing ..................... was there much / any internal deformation - was there any obvious failure of the frame in the cockpit area ?
  17. Turbo $ 750k costs for a divorce settlement ! Obviously the divorce parties did not have a 'rusted out' car body on the front lawn ........................ and the legals got into some good old time consuming legal argument ?
  18. Wouldn’t that be 12 mind numbing advert segments ……………interspersed with 12 repetitive scary landings (all conveyed in a patronising paternalistic tone (did not see it but could only imagine))
  19. Yep - just been thru the pilot license renewal recently Service is great with all things admin .................... even when I got cranky about me using an old form that would not be accepted (don't know where I got it from) service was ......... greater
  20. I reckon he did not see the aerobatic display.................... or he just saw something in his peripheral thingy I reckon his passenger told him to 'have a look at that !'
  21. dangerous - handy though ...................... went you get to your destination
  22. don't know if this has been posted before - the civil aviation authority of aotearoa has some informative accident investigations ................. they even do microlights (ultralights ....... in oz) not so bad ones (in regards to life and limb) are : http://www.caa.govt.nz/Script/Accident_List.asp serious ones are : http://www.caa.govt.nz/safety_info/fatal_accident_reports.htm might be something of interest ?
  23. Yes Turbo - I hope this all goes well and all the aircraft we know; and which are around the traps; are complying (including IBIS) (or it will be big do doos) Time will tell
  24. As we are not receiving specific RAA information (I fail to see why this (our) information) is confidential) ......................................... only TIME will tell Are there any members that are SP bookmakers ? (have to clear it with Ian before the betting ring commences) This would be fertile ground for encouraging and taking a punt ?
  25. That's a good summary flyerme Also, what worries me the most (I'm not attempting to be scare mongering) is that where IBIS planes are grounded - that there may be 'other types' that could also be grounded ................... I have heard no whispers but under the present set of circumstances and lack of information ................... this could perhaps be a slight probability I know its a 'subjective comment' but considering this current position we are in ..................................... ? Only time will tell
