I can remember asking an instructor to demonstrate a climb / vertical stall turn (don't know the word)
The manouvre was a fizzer
An Airtourer I think - the plane fell back - in reverse gear ............. a lesson on how not to do it !
It was like backing into a Woolworths parking lot ................ and hitting a couple of shopping trollies on the way in
wonder how airline ranking relates to that airlines / countries government support ...........
(guessing there will be some airlines that don't recieve any goverment assistance)
apart from the rock throwing (all directions) ............ thanks Brendan - somthing to note
.......... could be the answer - lets ask some flight schools and see what they say about how they treat any insurance excess - and post
we all must be nuts talking about the mechanics of legislation

and the data says (numbers rounded)
* 70 c dents per 100 miles (fuel)
* 40 miles per gallon (fuel)
* means that fuel was 28 cents per gallon ?
* cigarettes and ashtrays were probably a minimal cost to the body back then
true BD ............. but its always advantageous to discuss the absurdity of things (if seen as absurd)
something good might come of it
by their nature - bureaucracies must go there (either required, not required, willingly or reluctantly)
1. interesting pint skippy - you are saying - with a PPL or CPL you could do a touch and go at Sydney international airport ......... and you would not need an ASIC card ?

volumetric conversions - here's one that is handy
Whiskey
700 mls - 40 % alcohol means = 280 mls alcohol (rocket fuel)
has 22 standard drinks
280 mls divided by 22 = 12 to 13 mls of rocket fuel per standard drink
other liquids with rocket fuel suspended within
the above calculation works ruffly with other liquids
standard drink
about 13 mls of alcohol
no disrespect BUT they would have had ground crew operating those pads ............... it would not take much ? for a ground radio to advise of movements (perhaps there was - don't know)
my understanding is the airfield owner gets a 'cut' of the landing fee - the 'cut' % age is probably confidential
that system is an easy sell for Avdata in that when the airfield owner gets used to the 'take' ................... it's probably then easy for Avdata to get out the thumbscrews ......... and then create a really solid symbiotic mutually beneficial business relationship
OK FH - how does it increase your accelerate / stop distance pleaase ?
no bucket of flowers if you end up in that bog - the bean counter would not be happy
