i tried looking for performance specs for some of these planes - stall speeds seldom mentioned (if at all) my guess is: - lowest stall speed - Hurricane - 80 knots - fastest stall speed - Electric Lightning - 155 knots Any one wants to argue ? .................................... winner takes all (plus the light green 2 tone '55 vauxhall velox (with 5 new ! retreads))

hope the terminology is right ? been wondering when a radial motor has hydraulic lock (oil bottom cylinders) I imagine you either pull the prop through or take the spark plugs out a) how is that achieved when a radial powered flying boat is moored in water ? thanks

RE RAA member numbers I tired of the incessant financial commitment owning a plane so sold it and built a ................... When my RAA aircraft rego lapsed RAA rang me and said 'rather than paying the incessant $ 200 rego fee per year - you can be a non flying member ?' - think that's the term ........... and was only $ 35 per year So when you say 10,000 members - there's probably lots of deadwood in that number -

so what you are saying OME is that when you get a speeding ticket - personalised with 'on site' attendance by Mr Plod - they are actually giving you an 'in built' $ 197.20 discount I'll have to start driving with more panache -

another option might be that some aero clubs have a preferred insurer (in other words the 'insurer' gets all the business - some provisos are that you are a member of that club) the aero club gets buying power - you might swing that one AvidSteve (get some club members on side - ................. an admin / aeronautical task for the future !) -

Some initiatives CASA now realises some ideas have not tracked as initially anticipated don’t work; work has identified thinking through the initial idea new dependencies and issues that require proposals to be re-sequenced and rescoped – it now seems bl@@dy obvious to CASA that this needs more work
