  1. It won't happen unless the AUTHORITY is behind it. As I said with the reasons back about 7 posts. Nev
  2. Be nice to know what they did I know some beefing up was done but aluminium has it's limits where rigidity and tensile strength are Involved. Nev
  3. Dowels won't stop it They can even weaken the faces if you aren't careful. Nev
  4. A lot of certified aircraft have traps for the Unwary built into their fuel systems. The C 54/DC 4 is one such system You can lose the 4 engines. with air in the system. or vent fuel overboard. Nev
  5. Digital doesn't do it for Me, sorry,. IF you don't get away early in the day the clouds outclimb you. Having a turboprop engine is a bit more reassuring than Pistons. Nev
  6. The "crush" on the main bearing shells also being affected and the heat won't transfer out of them Properly. The stud tensions vary due to their Long length and the thermal expansion difference with the Alloy. IF they fret, there's also fatigue happening. If any decking is done ,other distances change.. There would have to be specified limits to it. (There is on other motors). I doubt Rotax would like it being done. Nev
  7. Members won't want a fee rise and whatever they do they will have some criticism of. "Keeping a Group of Pilots HAPPY" is a definition of the Impossible. Nev
  8. The Printed version is a significant cost item that has to be Borne by members or have some other way of offsetting the cost and that is what you have now. Nev
  9. I don't know what's available. I have operated them and it's not a new idea.. It makes a foolproof system. Nev
  10. Non return valves are a good safety feature. You don't want inadvertent transfer or AIR to ever be in the system. With n/r valves and all pumps on you can empty all fuel without a problem of air getting in till there's no fuel in the (fuel) manifold. The pressure while it is there keeps the check valves closed on the empty tanks. Draw a schematic till you understand. You do not need a collector with this system. It has been widely used. Nev
  11. There's a place for that elsewhere on the forum and since it MAY be subject to a Court Process there's not a lot that the Magazine could write about it.. Have we all prejudged RAAus & Jill Bailey.? That's for you to consider, not debate here as there's such a thing as presumption of Innocence until PROVEN Guilty. EVERYONE should be entitled to it. Nev
  12. Never a straight answer from you. Anyone who's interested can look up the names. They are not critical to the discussion.. Motor sports are much easier to manage than "flying things" and the "Potential" Liability is a lot less. The "Black flag" is an analogy as you well know that can't be done with a plane. There's plenty of other things that are very different. You just won't ever accept that. Your lack of in depth Understanding of Aviation is constantly on show in this matter. Nev
  13. What's in it for them? All small aviation groups have an interest too. It's been a divide and conquer Manoeuvre. Used all through History. Only the CASA could breathe life into this and there you have somewhere Between Buckleys and a Snowflake in Hells chance there.. CASA want the easiest LIFE possible and who in there would stick their Neck out on this for the risk involved and No real Kudos within the system. People want the action and benefits of being on the cutting edge. in that game. Nev
  14. CASA was only one of many names for the One Government Body, so your first statement is misleading. Then you go on with your usual comparison with Motor sport and aviation. CARs don't FLY and you can't black flag a plane.. When planes slow down they fall out of the sky at the bottom of it. Cars just pull off the side of the track. Nev
  15. I thought a few would get shot down.. Nev
  16. RAAus SAID "WE ARE the NEW GA " Years ago. Predictably that went down like a LEAD balloon. LtF they are still stall speed limited 45 Kts,.. Weight limit means you build light. Usually 310Kgs Basic Wt. That's good without carbon fibre. Nev
  17. Wasn't THAT what the Main Concern was all about? Member's Liability? Nev
  18. Has your last line become an established fact? Nev
  19. They'd be cheap second hand/ Low Hours. Nev
  20. Thats just muddying the waters, The last reference is about appealing the Coroners Findings. A state Prosecutor DECIDES IF it goes to Court. I DON"T believe that has happened yet. Nev
  21. More of a distraction than a problem if you allow it to be. Nev
  22. That's the same report referred to in Jack's post. The Coroner does an Inquiry. That mentions a Court ( incorrectly I suggest). Nev
  23. You can't just make up your own rules and figures. Caution is fine. Have a lift off and climb, No go point and Pace it Out, before hand. Density altitude is what will kill you. IF she's not ready to take to the AIR then stop, where you have room to do it and unload or wait till Conditions change. Nev
  24. Has the DPP made the decision YET? To Me, that's still to be done. A referral is just that.. Nev
  25. Details won't be readily available or what is the Point?, Don't encourage Copycat behaviour. There's plenty of would Be Heroes. OUT THERE.. Obviously security will be further increased.. Nev
