  1. Was the donk a 4 or 6 cylinder? Thanks, Rick-p
  2. You will have to train the dog to protect that patch also but it might be a bit of a tight fit for both the dog and the snake in the same underies .............!
  3. Thanks Ian, it was down on numbers because of the wind but allthat turned up had a great time. See you next time. Rick-p
  4. He is entertaining to say the least. I watched a few of his video's and some of the gear he get's hold of is pretty amazing, actually. Rick-p
  5. He's a Septic Tank not a Ruski go and view his other video's particularly the one in the APC with the 50 cal buying a burgerfrom Big Mac's, what a clown, but only in America! :rilla:
  6. The blonde had seen a lot but I would like to have seen a tittle more, whoops, a little more, sorry a typo on my part.
  7. Ian are you going to the flyin at Fitzy's on the weekend, if the rain goes away?
  8. Dave, just a word of advice lift off, stick slightly forward ground effect, pick up speed and climb out and in between doing all this, just after lift off, brakes on, stop main wheels rotating, less drag, vibration gone and the bigger the main wheels the better the result of your action, particularly with Tundra tyres.
  9. It sound like it's got an old hit and miss engine in it.
  10. That's incredible! It's so fast, I wonderwhat the actual, not scale, top speed is.
  11. Very smart invention.
  12. Was that German the photographer was speaking?
  13. Am I correct in saying that the plane was found with the bodies some 3 years after the crash? I don't know but just call me simplistic but does anyone else think what I'm thinking, the pilot had an heart attack. The phtographer said hang a right but they were turning right weren't they? Unusual to say the least.
  14. At first I was trying to work out if in fact he was in an aircraft or a go-kart! When he finally got airborne or you could see that he was airborn I thought that he was practising a dumber than dumber pilot routine. In the end I think that he was just hooked on the new version of the Hollies old song "A Long and Winding Road".
  15. :oh yeah:Is that before or after the snake has eaten the mouse?
  16. Well Dean maybe would then remember John Timmins and many other RC flyers from the central coast club. Probably wouldn't remember me but I do remember the day that he brought, I think, the proto type to the club and there was talk about aeroflyte or one of those model manufacturers taking it on. Dean was and probably still is a very proficient RC flyer. I was pretty hopeless my models all seem to crash on the main road that went past the flying field.
  17. Love it, my litle boy will go crazy over this one when out!
  18. OMG a 410 that would only, as you say, leave small dents. The local rats here are so big nothing less than a 375 magnum, I didn't say 357 I said 375. Only trouble is it would perform a colonoscopy on your aircraft. Rick-p:thank you:
  19. Hi Winton, Totally off topic but are you Dean or his son? Maybe I missed something in the previous posts it's just been a dam long day. Thirty or so years ago did you fly RC up on the Central Coast, near Gossford? I recall one of the Winton boy's who were members of the club turning up with, if I remeber correctly a model of the Opal Facet. They were great times, good people and great model flying. Rick-p
  20. Hi All, Well years ago I had a snake drop out of the wing root rib opening on my Supa Pup, right into my lap. I was on finals when it happened. I wrote an article on the dangers in country areas of unwanted visitors entering your aircraft whilst parked and doing damage or trying to frighten you to death by appearing whilst the aircraft is in flight. The snake episode was in fact published in Pacific Flyer by another who asked permission of me to do so. The upshot is this, take nothing for granted and always check. Mice arn't too bad basically just messy for the best part but rats are leathal and can bring you back down to the ground quite suddenly. I had mice in the wings of the Lambada, my fix was to remove the wing tips and go for a fly. It sucked out the little B...gars and their house and all thereafter was clean and well. The idea is to leave a bit of tissue paper or soft sponge material in the aircraft and if mice are there you will know it as they will chew it up and take it for their nest. A good thing to keep them out is moth balls (napthalene) they hate the smell and won't usually venture inside the aircraft. I don't know if this works on rats. I have often thought how many of these unexplained aircraft accidents where the pilot is killed and therefore, can't tell a story have occurred due to an unwanted hitch-hiker and after the crash they have just slithered or crawled off. My advice is, just be ever vigilant and look for the signs because with all these vermin they leave some evidence one way or another of their presence in the aircraft. I know as I learnt my lesson the hard way and fortunately for me that lesson was not my last. Rick-p
  21. I'm sorry if I got off a bit beyond the point it's just after nearly some 30 years in the law I seee this type of thing happening more and more these days. Laws are being made that fall outside our usual thinking mode but the changes are not made known to the public and the individuals only find out when they get bitten. My whole thrust was, what if the most recent tragedy was caused by something that was know to be a problem having occurred before but know one thought of making it public knowledge. To lose a loved one or dear friend in accident is one thing but lose them when it was knowinly preventable is criminal, in my view, hence the need for those who take on the investigation of these type of accidents for them to ensure that the findings are widely publicised and made availabe to all who are interested. Sorry no more posts for me on this topic as it isn't really appropriate here in this thread. Rick-p
  22. Yes it is a bad idea, it's stupid and irresponsible and down right dangerous buttttttttttttttt the law has to be grounded on principles in keeping with a person's rights as if we are stripped of all our rights then we will be nothing more than a police state and governments can do what they like with us. Rick-p
  23. Hi Dex, I know that's your opinion and you are entitled to have an opinion but any opinion needs to be grounded securely on all the facts and circumstances of the particular issue. I think if I was you I would look at the laws of the state in which you reside. I think now that in every State of Australia it is drink driving on any public road or elsewhere meaning anywhere else which was the case in QLD previously but the changes to the legislation removed public road and elsewhere from the relevant sections of the Act and it now stands at anywhere and everywhere. Technically you could now be in your car or on a ride on lawn mower in your garage UIL and be charged. Remember that the "elsewhere" refers to any private land that is used by the public such as service stations, sopping centres and common use driveways. Rick-p
  24. To you it may have been a rant but is was acctually in support of Maj's post. And as for saying it's a common sense law well you obviously have had no legal training or understand the law. There are good laws and bad laws, this one is a bad law. Rick-p
