Hi, any members planning to attend the Old Station Flyin (YOSN, West of Gladstone, Queensland) please consider posting on this topic and include an image of your aircraft so members can look out for each other and catchup during the event for a Tea, Coffee or Beer etc even a punch-up to settle any past disagreements🙃🤪 (Joking of course).  Just an idea and see if it works.  Reason for early post is that some may need to plan the trip and time off.  Cheers and Merry Christmas to all. Best regards Mike

I can probably Google it but the dates would have been helpful.

23-25 May 2025. YOSN. Fly up Friday arvo and leave Sunday. Great event if you like tractors, trucks, farm life, people and aircraft.

Lol, that's ridiculous and typically American.

I think If I woke up and looked down at that ground sheet I'd probably fall over

Yep, at Oshkosh last year.  I'm basic with a 3 person tent.

Mini-Me and I are hoping the weather will clear up enough so can get away tomorrow morning and head up the inland route over Moree & Chinchilla. Have the swags, table, camp chairs, sleeping bags, all ready to load up.

Another enjoyable Old Station. Had a great time as first officer in my friend's beautifully restored 1964 Cessna 182.  Was good to meet Blueadventures, KRaviator and Corvairkr from the Forum.

What an awesome long weekend (Friday to Sunday).  Great organisation, staff, ground staff directing aircraft by SAAA, clear inbound and in circuit comms supported by the ground support.   On arrival I joined overhead and number 2 to the Trojan.  Great food and airshow.  Caught up with many forum members and old mates.  The amenities were added close to the aircraft so no need for long walk to showers each day.  The airshow is great with the hills close behind as a back drop.  Images to follow.

The official statistics from The Old Station Air Show 2025!

This year, we were absolutely blown away by the community support from near and far. We had people travelling from as far as Melbourne and Adelaide to attend this event, with a few making the trip all the way from New Zealand. The turnout was nothing short of phenomenal, and The Old Station Flying Club is over the moon with how the weekend went.

Here’s what the weekend looked like by the numbers:
🚶‍♂️ Approx 11,000 gate entries
🏕 1,150 camp sites - with over 500 campers rolling in before lunch time on the Thursday
✈️ 252 aircraft
🏍 55 bikes
🚗 32 cars
🚛 40 trucks
🚜 34 tractors in the tractor pull
⚙️ An outstanding showing of heritage machinery

This event would not have been possible without the support of our volunteers, with 430 amazing volunteers pulling together to make this event happen!

We’re still finalising a few things behind the scenes, so while we can’t share how much money was raised yet, rest assured — that announcement will come at our official presentation event soon.

I'd be surprised if it flew well on one engine with the other not feathered. Lots of drag and mass on one ULS with a fair bit of rudder input.  It's at tiger moth speed . Plenty to see at low level.  Unequalled vision. Nev

I stand to be corrected:

I am sure I read an article, many many years ago, about this aircraft type being developed specifically for flying over the Amazon jungle. Open areas for forced or deliberate landing few & far between. They are purely for low level, warm climate, observation (wildlife?) patrols.😈
