All too complex specs for me,  I would rather a Lister Diesel 🤩

Listers are OK if you want to take a PUNT. What's the NORMAL price of these Rotax's?  Seems beyond what a normal person could afford. Nev.

Absolutely insane pricing for someone trying to build a kit plane.

The Rotax prices must be following housing prices. Unaffordable for all but the wealthiest, or those with "old money" or Lotto winnings to splash around.

Not mass produced but surely enough are made now that they have recovered initial investment and are now making massive profits.

The most common and cheapest 912uls is not on the list. If we take the cheapest on the list and divide by 2000 hours it comes to $27 per hour, good value for a commercial operator. how cheap do you want it? Remember liability insurance and other costs associated with aviation would not be cheap.

 

The good thing for home builders is the good supply of very good used ex flying school engines at very reasonable prices, $5k.

 

The most expensive engine on the list, the 916, which would be very very nice in my RV6a is comparable in price to a new experimental lycoming o-320 160Hp engine. You get what you pay for.

I got quoted $38K USD for a new engine without EFII a few months ago. Adding that brings it up to about $70K (AUD), then shipping and GST and suddenly that 916 pricing is is pretty attractive, you know!

Given the choice, I'd take Rotax anyday though. That turbo would make the -9 one hell of an economical cruiser up high.

The old man had a 3 cylinder lister in a boat that was fitted with an inertia starter off a radial aircraft engine. Sounded like a turbine spinning up . Made people look at the jetty.

A bloke with a v tail bonanza told me he got quoted $130000 for a new engine .

The beauty of finding nice gold nuggets is that the Perth Mint will pay a premium over the regular gold price for some of them, as there's a major demand for them for jewellery, and a recent decline in the number of nuggets suitable for jewellery use.

Yes they will but they only want clean nuggets as most of these are. A lot of our gold has some rock attached so that needs to go to the Perth Mint Refinery where they pay an honest gold and silver price regardless of the way it looks.
