  1. A good thread on reflexed flaps from way back in 2014. https://www.recreationalflying.com/forums/topic/23881-reflex-flaps-and-ailerons/
  2. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/air-india-to-shift-maintenance-work-from-turkish-firm-as-it-looks-to-adjust-plans-amid-geopolitical-tensions/articleshow/121552159.cms A recent relocation of AI’s maintenance activities
  3. If you flew them to the northern hemisphere they would then only be flat on the top - that should even them out.
  4. https://www.gluetread.com.au/products/sidewall-seal-kit A different ‘solution’ to the problem. Any real world experience out there ? You would be relying heavily on a bit of glue to get you out of a pickle……and still have to reinflate the tyre.
  5. For interested parties, here is an email response to my enquiry……. We are currently renovating our rooms which were damaged in the 2023 floods. Our Restaurant was destroyed, however we now have a Café/Food Truck open daily as well as our shop for supplies. We also do pizzas over the weekends during peak season from our wood fire oven. QLD Parks have just reopened the National Park and we will be recommencing our boat cruise shortly. Other than this At Wugudaji-Adels Grove and surrounding areas there are walks, bikes, telescopes & canoes to hire, fishing and relaxing in the Lawn Hill Creek at Adels to be enjoyed. The fossil fields are close by to visit also. Throughout the site there are several covered areas with Barbecues, seating etc. Please check our website & Facebook page (links below) for more information & recent photos. Our renovated ensuite queen rooms will be ready by the end of this year (we do partially close during the wet season approx. Nov-March). These rooms will be available as of the new year (possibly even end of this season). However as yet rates are to be confirmed. Meals can be purchased from the Café/Food Truck or pizzas over weekends. Also the shop carries supplies to purchase to prepare & cook on the shared BBQ/Camp kitchen if you wish. Yes the airstrip is serviceable and we also have AvGas for purchase if needed. QLD Parks runs the National Park and for information regarding this area you will need to check their website.
  6. Good point ! They are listed for $0.00 !
  7. Should I buy a single Bose replacement headset microphone foam windscreen from Aircraft Spruce for $22.95 + delivery or 10 non-genuine ones off Temu for $2.06 ??
  8. Anyone got a recent update on Adels Grove as a flying stopover destination ? Their website is rather vague on accomodation and meals and seems focussed on camping only. I’m aware they got smashed by floods a few years ago and it is now operated by an Indigenous entity that may have different priorities to the previous owners.
  9. The channel country is really putting on a show this year. Pics from a flight 2 weeks ago between Birdsville and Windorah
  10. This has been raised before, but this looks like the final airspace design for the Sydney Basin. If you are visiting anywhere near Sydney or need to transit and you wish to fly north of the Oaks and south of the Hawkesbury River and east of the Blue Mountains you will need as a minimum a Mode C transponder (a SkyEcho isn’t adequate), a CASA Class 5 medical, and an RPL with CTA endorsement and will need to lodge a NAIPS flight plan. That probably currently excludes a largish number of RAAus pilots and aircraft. Class C airspace LL dropped from 2500’ to 1500’ for a big chunk of the Sydney basin, , but then there is Class D below it to 1,000’. If you wish to avoid CTA altogether it’s over the ocean at 500’ or over the Blue Mountains which are frequently clouded over. Some entry lanes for Camden have been removed and a new one added for Bankstown. Remember that RAAus are working hard to gain access to CTA for RPC holders by sometime in 2025. 91d5335adfce4e81ac6b1f9dd38a294b_June 2026 - IBP (Detailed design).pdf
  11. Name that town ? Big hint…..it’s maroon on the right and blue on the left.
  12. Mungo lodge and their tour to the lake and woolshed is really interesting. They still got wandering emus on the strip?
  13. CO by itself is odourless, but when mixed with exhaust gas you will smell that instead. Also be aware that CO poisoning is cumulative - a low concentration over a longer period can also be very dangerous. What type of CO monitor - a sticker or something else ? Confirm its function if you can. A 3 year old aircraft - have you regularly used the heater before ? If you’re lucky, it may be the volatiles coming out of the (plastic ?) ducting from the initial heat, if you’ve never used it before ?? As Skippy mentions - be incredibly cautious and investigate thoroughly.
  14. I thought it was someone’s leftover casserole. Can’t see any mushrooms though.
  15. Would a 23 reg aircraft with a 15 yr old 912 attract the same dispensation as a 24 reg ?
  16. But not 23 ?? Will wait for the communique from RAAus.
  17. Thanks LtF - sounds like a great trip. Does it look pretty green at Birdsville ? Got any pics ? Hope to be there in about a month.
  18. https://www.theaviatorstore.com.au/products/pilot-co-charger mine does 2 things.
  19. Did a lap on a tour boat up the Gordon River in Tassie back in January. The boat was a hybrid diesel battery electric built back in 2017.
  20. Thanks Thruster - and that looked like an awesome flight ! I’m thinking about my pax small bladder and a partial circumnavigation of the lake if it’s full, makes for about a 3 hr flight to Birdsville from William Ck. I may have to head back to Marree for a pit stop and then follow the track northwards. If you’re heading out there in June, I might see you there !
  21. Not the last flight, but maybe the next flight…… Has anyone flown William Creek to Birdsville when Lake Eyre is full ? What track did you use ? I note a direct track would involve up to 40nm over water - and I don’t want to carry a life jacket across the desert. Looking for other people’s experiences.
  22. I agree - but what would you suggest is the next best non fossil fuel alternative at present ?
  23. Now, back to aviation for a moment…….., Will hydrogen have a role to play ? Even with quick charge, and higher charge density batteries, a direct IC hydrogen engine may still have the edge for small GA aircraft at present, if they can get them to work.
  24. I know the topic heading was for nitrogen engines, but it was subsequently largely hijacked for hydrogen……,so here’s some more hydrogen stuff…… https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/aerospace/2025-04-11/kawasaki-targets-2030-piston-engine-certification And some of the new plastic fantastics on display at Aero 2025…….(which probably should be in their own thread) https://youtu.be/xm3JzMXCR2o?si=d9LLDqrBxDKUTM9A
  25. Just curious - does the P3 have a flammable propellant and the can have a temperature limit stated on it at all ?
