  1. Hi all anyone know where I can get 2 to 3 metres of shielded two pair aircraft cable? Our Jabiru PTT wiring needs to be replaced. Thanks
  2. Pity you can't keep both :) I'll be in touch shortly - do you have any photos you could send? Thanks, Tony
  3. Hi All. Anyone have any first hand experience with the Karasport? I can't find much on the interweb and I like the look of them. Information like weights, construction method, any storage on board etc. Ta muchly
  4. Where are you in Adelaide Lyndon?
  5. I think she calls herself global girl now.
  6. Yes that's how I always taught this. A headwind is only important if you can see the ground or are referencing the ground. Try this: you're climbing out after takeoff and you have a headwind. You can see the ground so it looks like you're climbing steeper and going slower than "normal". Now, look away from the ground. Can't see the ground anymore so rate of climb etc can only be judged by looking at the vsi which would read exactly the same as if there was no headwind.
  7. 2am is a great name for a restaurant! Doesn't sound very Chinese though
  8. Yes it was a joke! A pet hate of mine. Same as family heirloom, stupid idiot and other tautologies.
  9. Maybe she'd be Ok with it at 2am in the afternoon?
  10. Grange hermitage , he he. I'm thinking more along the lines of cleanskins :)
  11. Thanks PA but it turns out the stuff I need transporting is now locked up until after Easter :( and I can't get at them!
  12. Hmmmm - might have to put some limit on that offer !
  13. hi guys, Just wondering if anyone is coming to Adelaide from Melbourne any time soon. I have bought a couple of model motorcycle kits in Melbourne and was hoping to get them transported to Adelaide. There are 4 of them and they are 1/6 scale so fairly largish though they don't weigh much. There is a case of beer or a dozen red or white wines in it
  14. Wing struts and fittings are more substantial than a C180 according to the Brumby guys - if the whole aircraft is built to that standard should last for quite a while.
  15. I've done Pt Lincoln to Wedge, Thistle, Kangaroo Is, Goolwa, Murray Bridge in a Jabiru!! The whole time thinking please don't stop, please don't stop :) I really like the Brumby too since I flew a 600 low wing in Cowra last year - great sturdy plane.
  16. Or if you really want a jet how about mount 4 of these - http://www.sitewavesstores5.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=JetCat&Product_Code=P200-SX&Category_Code=TURB About 200 ftlbs and $25k plus some redundancy.
  17. Really? I should read these posts a bit better. I was merely pointing out you can get a hell of a lot of performance from the same stable for a LOT less money. And it would sound good too - turbines are boring!
  18. A lot less money would be a Onex with a jab 6 or maybe a 914 (not sure if it'll fit). There would be heaps of performance, single seat still and just as aerobatic. Not a jet, true but lots of performance.
  19. I worked in deseal/reseal also and remember going to medical section for my 6 monthly checkup and one of the tests was something to do with mek causing cancer. Apparently it's accumulative in that any exposure just adds to what you've already had. I wouldn't be washing my hands in it (even though I did for a long time :))
  20. This was posted in the funnies section a while ago. It explains what a dangling participle is at the end. My wife and I had to watch that bit several times before we got it.
  21. Yeah he could have landed in the large cake that was on the 19th :) I just caught the end of this on the news and apparently the wing came off prior to his crash landing! I love the news reporting :)
  22. Wouldn't the friction make your feet hot? Very cool though.
