I hold a PC and a PPL with CTA and am about to relocate from country Vic to Melbourne, probably the western suburbs. Does anybody have any suggestions regarding a facility where I can refresh my controlled airspace procedures, learn how to operate out of Moorabbin (I guess?) and all without being completely looted? Also, a reasonably close facility with RaAus a/c? Cheers

What a beautiful aircraft - Boeing has done it again.

The grammatical errors and obvious foolery is the first gate in the scammers tactic. They know that anybody gullible enough to contact them regardless is qualified for the next step on their journey.

OK will do, the test was in a C172, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I flew and passed my PPL flight exam in September, and submitted that in November to satisfy the BFR requirement and was refused. RAA was happy to take my money however...just not to recognise the PPL test as evidence of satisfying the BFR.

Plane crash in Lake Taupo NZ

That's 2 XL750's down in NZ of recent times, fortunately nobody was killed in this one. Dare I ask how long before CASA makes a statistical "analysis" regarding these aircraft in jump ops in Oz? -
The ABC satire Utopia was widely regarded by public servants and others in the know as a documentary, it so closely reflected the actual workings of many departments. Bill Gates has commented often that he is quite prepared to give more of his income to society, but he doesn't want to pay more tax because governments are too inefficient at redistribution.

PAC XL750? -
These guys think it comprises 4 Honda CR500 cylinders joined to make the V4.

Anyone here did RA-Aus to PPL conversion?

First you need to prepare for the GFPT, which I found much like the RAA pilot certificate but in a heavier ac. Then do the PPL theory exam, which I found quite a big test. Then do the PPL flight test which is much like the nav endo for your PC. I did the CTR endo later, easier than mixing it in with the test if you don't have to. The real trick is to do your PC with a school that also does GA training. Only one BAK for example, and GA discipline from the start. Cheers -

Fantastic new facility, absolute credit to Don and his wife. Nothing like the good old days at Pakenham or Labertouche. PAC XL750 to FL14 in 5 or 6 minutes. Love the landing fee in ERSA - take a look.

Almost universal coverage at alll the mentioned enterprises, that's why I said "a common thread". It's obviously not just IR, and I certainly don't blame people seeking to address the natural imbalance of power in an employee/employer relationship, but rather the almost lemming like behaviour by industrial organisations of constantly seeking more for less until the host organism dies (hows that for some mixed metaphors!)

Union memebership is at an all time low - but not at Qantas,Toyota,GMH, SPCA. Dear me, is that a common thread?

It seems to me that Qantas is neither fish nor fowl in its structure and it either needs to be a full market enterprise without ownership and management restrictions, or back to a public utility and government owned. Government ownership does not have a great track record once any competition is involved leaving fill and free market ownership and management as the solution.

Was that John Stopafarty?

There's nothing new, hey...that site looks perfect, thanks for the interest.

Perhaps it could just record and playback so that the trainee could self assess?
