  2. bloody hell a question was asked G'day All. Just wondering if I might be able to ask the views of the panel? Long story short, I'm an ex GA pilot looking to get into recreational aircraft, with the goal of eventually building my own. Tail-end of last year I Googled flying schools in the area and decided to go out and have a squiz and a yarn. Being new to RA, I'm not too sure on the rules and regulations for the different registrations, but one of the aircraft triggered a "What The Fark !?...Mob of Dodgy Can'ts!" response. Just wondering if this is considered a serviceable or unserviceable condition, and common for RAAus aircraft? Also, the corroded Flaperon hanger assembly did not appear to have any bearing or bush fitted, so the whole mechanism wobbled like an Elvis impersonator with Parkison's. Is this normal? no its not but owing to the fact that their are rouge operators in this sport that need to be hung drawn and quartered and named so as the person like you do not get the impresion that all rec planes are a death traps this information about operators of planes in this condition needs to be addressed in writing to raa and if no response CASA as the charter that we as an organization operate under has been broken there for no one will able to partisapate in this sport don't phone put it in writing IF this plane is at the extreme end of where it's alleged to be condition wise, anyone with a KNOWLEDGE or witnessing an unsafe action in aviation is required to report it to the authority. In our circumstances it would logically be to the RAAus initially, nev the part of this saga that has me concerned is with a plane in that condition and used to train persons to fly what sort of instructor was he /she ? neil

N S S S CASA GA rules apply to all air craft more info is required it is a 24 reg aircraft by the number take your arse out their and bloody well report that death trap or are you to bloody scared to report and hide behind photos good advertising for self maintenance neil

  9. Best wishes to the team Neil
  10. Not being smart oz I agree with what you say but rotax have still say that manual fuel pumps do fail. A minuscule amount of fuel into oil wil will have devestating effects on oil. The failure to have the return line in stalled as to the requirement of rotax makes the problem an incident waiting to happen and it is. Not one person has came up and said that all off the aircraft that have rotax 912 power plant installed involved in incidents had the return fitted why ? Making. An assumption by me I assume that should you get the real story you will find that the percentages will find that there is no return line on most of the aircraft to alleviate fuel presure Neil
  11. A Pauline moment please ex plain caution neil

  15. Part reply to post 31 Oh dear great example off useing the slams gear box into reverse ar 100 ks does the writer have a car that old that it does not have a SAFETY gate incorporated into the gear box When I was learning to drive on the side of the gear stick there was a little button that when you wanted to select reverse you lifted it to open the SAFETY gate to select reverse the only way that reverse could be selected was to open the SAFETY gate Today the same principle applies in the latest ford ranger lift the button to open the SAFETY GATE to engage reverse Yes there were idiots back then who needed a SAFETY gate in stalled by the manufacturer after idiots ran over people Now if your car does not have that SAFETY gate return to seller or have YOU REMOVED SAID SAFETY GATE in witch case hello warden Neil

  20. Nev I do have a pump similar too what appears to be a fire risk pump I did set it up and run water through it then fuel By letting the fuel run unrestricted no heat at pump when partly restricted small increase of heat when the flow was brought to a trickle there was significant increase in heat at pump also heating of fuel Also the wiring to the pump also heated Rotax have an AD that if your engine had fuel pump number xxxxxx to xxxx to replace it so the maker of the aircraft who installed the engine there way does not have to inform you of this AD On a four wheeler bike That had fuel problem it was found that the manual fuel pump was pumping to mutch fuel and blowing out the carby seals changed pump problem solved Experimenting to be done with extreme caution To see how many litre are returned to the tank Place plane in area safe Anchor aircraft important Have three observers Have fire extinguisher ready remove return line Extend return line to a container well away from aircraft Enter air craft Start engine and run at idle for say five minutes Measure quantity Now use the same procedures as at 4800 Have a thermometer and check fuel temp Whats the conclusion Neil
  21. So automobiles is the best solution to your argument that you can come up with just goes to show how wrong you are in your statement. Neil
  22. spot on dan when that part has been a requirement from ROTAX SINCE 2004 according to the manual I got when I purchested my aircraft ( bert flood RIP mate )informed me 1997 or there about 2000 it was mentioned somewhere those that quote the pages said had better read it again as it states air frames does not say that they do not attach return line to rotax motors in their airframes neil
  23. go out back the coast full neil
