  1. Personally I think 750kg and only 2 seats is more than enough, it would allow LSA factory builders to make their aircraft a bit stronger and allow existing LSA's to have a bit more leeway as far as passengers and baggage etc, some are already very close to the 600kg when loaded up with crew, bags and fuel. The new generation of LSA's would be stronger and have more load capacity and in the end be safer, so that's a good thing, so as I have said I think 750kg is more than enough. I think we could have some very nice RV's then included on the RAAus register....I will have one of those please... David
  2. What a great series, not only educational but it showcases people and our great country...I am glad I took the time to watch the 10 parts to the series, well done CASA.... CASA Out-n-Back David
  3. Yes I would like to make it remote but because it it is an LSA 24 rego I would need factory approval, I think that would take too much time unfortunately, I have ordered a new 52mm Aviasport gauge to suit the Honeywell.. I should then be able to take the old Mitchell gauge out and drop the new one straight in the hole, anyone need a oil pressure gauge going cheap??? thanks anyway mate for your advice. David
  4. Ok thanks Mark...looks like I'm off to Mr Flood... David
  5. Hi Guys, I have recently changed the engine in my plane and it has the honeywell oil pressure sender, on the old engine it had the old VDO sender, question: is my old oil pressure gauge compatible with the honeywell sender or will I need to buy a new gauge for it to work properly? David
  6. And it seems we still have confusion...I want an RPL but I don't need CTA...no interested in that, I just want be able to fly the heavier RV... David

  8. Nice Brent ....keep up the good work and stay cool.. David
  9. Mick, Mine has the small 2in taco in the panel on the right side and I would like to put the bigger one into the main area in panel..the small one is hard to see as the increments are very small... David
  10. So is that in the new Part 61 rules? David
  11. A question, is there anything in Part 61 that says a RAAus registered aircraft can't be used by a CPL pilot to build up his command hours? David
  12. Hi Scott, Yes I know they sell them but I was hoping someone might have one second hand, maybe updated to a glass panel but yes I guess Bert Flood would be my other option... David

  16. Now that we all know about this issue has anyone called RAAus and asked them if this issue has been brought to their attention and then report this back to us here so we can put this to bed and stop all the guessing !!!!!!!!! David
  17. bt50flyer....it seems you know all about this aircraft and it's condition...so I ask you, what have you done personally....firstly have you talked to the aircraft's owner lately, maybe they have grounded it since the photo's were taken and if they have all of this talk it just a waste of time and as Geoff 13 said just a witch hunt...if it is still flying then...I think it is up to you now to follow all of this up with RAAus or CASA...have you done this? and if so what are they doing about it? and if you have not...why not? David
  18. Well the exhaust pipe is 30min diameter, so a clamp to suit that and the spring is your standard 66mm and 12.5 turns I believe. David
  19. You are all getting carried away...there is no one saying that it is flying that I have read..it's probably some old piece of crap lying around in someone's hangar long forgotten...settle down everyone..get some facts first.. David
  20. Ok thanks...I know Harvey.. David
  21. Yes sorry, a friend of mine need the springs I was looking for new clamps actually so I thought I could see if I could find both... David
  22. Hi Guys, Does anyone have for sale the standard 912 exhaust springs and standard clamps for the rotax in my Sportstar other than Bert Flood? David
  23. Nice photos, but in Florida you don't have big aggressive croc's and sharks and so remote that you could easily die there if you had a mishap...I would be in company flying around in that area especially if you want to try and land on beaches...I think some people that come here from overseas just don't realize how big and remote Australia is, all I can say is do your homework... David
  24. Yes that is helpful Frank, I will give them a call...thanks, David
