  1. Doesnt make much sense, the larger Jabiru are all ok to 700 and up to 750kg Its the same aircraft. Can hardly prevent more of them coming onto RAA register. Sounding like these new regs will only apply to new designs made specifically to use it
  2. Close to nil existing RAA reg aircraft will be eligible for this without a lift in stall speed. only has to be a small one and theres plenty can use it first ive heard of LAME maint for RA reg aircraft. Some that are eligible (or close) are the same aircraft
  3. Dont recall but maybe is ok due to being an LSA originally. Maybe its not OK Also im not sure anyone is checkong or even knows this regulation too well There was some discussion here and its something to do with maintenance, as owners, not just builders, can maintain in RAA VH experimental can and so can LSA and certified RAA. There is a permit RAA tech team can issue to allow 19 acess. Just another flaw in CTA access over regulation
  4. Dont think 19 reg can be flown into CTA needs some rare special permit
  5. The facility is there but users have to enter data
  6. DUbbo is probably one of the few with pax numbers to support this idea others have spent the money and just have 2 saab 340 per day and not even full There is a welcome new routes though, Jetgo, Pelican and Corporate offering N-S travel
  7. Now with $200 Mill of SBAS they can be more accurate - like 10cm
  8. Jabiru released FB post about it being modified engine and running out of fuel....ie not their fault Suggest if it had no fuel it isn't modified CAE engines fault either
  9. It would be live to main system. Ipad is just for entering and reading data If one is lost or busted, grab another, log in and keep going
  10. As discussed evidence from US has little relevance, and no the gas is not from rotting vegetation. Complete nonsense
  11. Interested in where the "poisoning" has taken place I don't know of any
  12. Orange council spent big on new facilities, especially emergency services facility and have now doubled rent, significant landing fees and extra charges to users like Rex Rex has issues as councils are extending runways to allow larger aircraft in which erodes their position. Once Qantaslink start, fares drop sharply. Problem is councils spend the money on runways and terminals and then new providers DO NOT turn up. Businesses closing and airport is no longer attractive to small aviation.
  13. Pretty sooted up belly on the aircraft, maybe burning of something under cowl? If so a great result getting it down safely.
  14. Landings are also logged as part of annual rego with RAA, along with hours
  15. Like to see some evidence of contaminated groundwater in australia. Failed projects, Leaks or problems. Few care what gas companies say and requirements based on evidence are accepted. PR gets snowed by emotional bs backed by other interested parties Plenty of people in regional centres support csg. Especially those with wells on their land.
  16. Correct So why aren't they being invested in like wind and solar? Id guess not eligible for Govt handouts and secured returns
  17. I found these, supposed to be LiFe but no indication of this on the packaging or unit itself https://www.auselectronicsdirect.com.au/700a-lithium-jump-starter-power-bank-lifepo4 They have a few sizes inc one with Aircompressor The connector into unit is a std RC unit and a longer lead with Andersen plug would work great for jump starting aircraft Not sure if carrying in aircraft is a good idea or not
  18. FT, the subsidies are paid to overseas energy companies, then a portion is spent with national construction firms who all but bypass local suppliers wherever possible same for any significant infrastructure projects. In regional areas. They need as part of federal funding model, tier 1 head contractors and that means only a few can even bid on the work. Subcontracts are let to cheapest suppliers or existing arrangements. The required safety and other insurances precludes any locals providing much more than sandwiches or things that cant be trucked in.
  19. Not talking about turbulence etc but rather a big area where an unplannned engine out might be a more significant problem than before.. Another group of obstacles to avoid and alter options for safe outlanding. They are built pn all types of terrain including peaks of hills making them much taller than 100m indicated of course you can fly over it just like thick bush or water, but many would prefer to avoid it 200 km 2 is a massive area
  20. The CCA rating is pretty misleading, no way the supplied leads can provide power, 900 cca, to a really flat battery and start the engine instructions often say to leave connected for a while then start. Luckily most situations where engine wont start arent a dead flat battery Jabiru need a high crank speed - near full voltage- to start. In this case jumper pack would work well. trouble is if theres a battery problem like short or collapsed cell this will waste jumper pack power too
  21. Whats your point? companies will flock to any significant govt handout- who would have thought that possible...... a key point is that these will help meet a departmental promise to other countries, the key goal and justification for screwing Australian business Next the same govt complains about large manufacturing leaving Australia Couple of hundred km 2 where small aircraft will need to avoid and cant take off and land maybe
  22. Not aure where you see hogh cost suppliers being pushed out or how you reconcile massive price increases despite taxpayer payouts
  23. CAE just uses std engine oil injected few ml into intake valve just as the engine stops Appears to work well when you remember to do it.
  24. Solar and wind are great. Taxpayers funding them is not. They are expanding here because of govt subsidies. Despite massive sums of cash given out they still produce a tiny amount of energy and only for small timeframes. In the mean time we will need big 24 hr producers of power. Some coal powered generators are out of time and were there replacements coming on line like gas or hydro, there wouldn't be much debate. Its a hot topic because we face the real possibility of running out and being held to ransom by unregulated producers, as so much weight has been placed on wind and solar to fill the gap completely and it simply cannot. Increased cost due to subsidies or inefficiency of storage will flow directly to consumers not in power costs but via increased cost of products they consume. What households do with PV has little impact on the problem other than they are the loudest voice.
