OUCH!!!! - More than what I was told. Is that cost for a hangar for yourself or share with other aircraft?

So I assume a instructor on board - so why did the instructor allow a downwind landing????. If I am wrong I fall on my sword.

Biggest problem is the tree wall that is causing turbulence with a downwind landing. Looks way to hot on speed. Misreading the windsock?????. Wont be the last people misread windsocks.

How many of us, have used ALL of the calls listed here except when other aircraft (more than one ) are in the circuit?

Oh yes, my dream, saw it in Europe fell in love - BUT - its a bowling green landing aircraft, the undercart is not built for Aussie outback strip conditions. Dammmmm Shame!. Goes like a cut cat, and its "fowler sort of flaps" slow it right down. Its also not cheap with the Aussie dollar - unless lotto comes in. Great for tar runways and long point to point trips. Roberto has built a brilliant point to point toy.

I fly retract under RAA and was flying retract under AUF with amphibian floats, many years ago.

Bruce - Don't get picky - you know exactly what I mean and the different levels, I assume, of thick whiteout for example or the thin wispy cloud where you can get reference to the ground etc. All is a slippy slope from killing you slightly, to the more hard core death.

To all RAA guys with no GA and IFR experience. A simple and clear answer. GO INTO REAL CLOUD AND YOU DIE. No if's or but's. If you want to prove me wrong - go to GA school and have a run with IFR instructor into cloud and see how long you last. Then tell me how long you lasted in it before you lost control - simple. End of argument.

Back when I was teaching and completely against the regs, four CASA guys I knew told me – “You make sure you are popping these students into cloud and showing them how to get out of it and how dangerous it is and be scared enough never to go near it”. That was the unofficial approval to do something was that was directly against the regs but totally condoned under the table by the Casa guys who had practical flying experience and not a bunch of pen pushers. By the way one of these guys was number two in the system, who I used to have coffee with every now and then. I also doubt many of the RAA instructors DO NOT have the experience to do this with any safety as they have never been IFR rated. So we have a chicken and egg problem again. We have many faults with the training system that need to be addressed, and that is certainly one that should be on top of the list.

In Europe a few strips have an arrow underscored below the runway number (great system) should have it here at non controlled strips.

What Pisses me off more than anything is sitting for hours without being told anything. My blood pressure raises like stall speed with angle of bank. Communication to the waiting is required to people waiting simple acknowledgement they are not forgotten and update timing. Also I speak to a few ER nurses at the local dog park and they say that have a hard time with the "illegal drug induced " overdoses that are also tied to attempted suicide and use huge resources of people, police and time in the ER. One incident they said had NINE police called to keep the ER safe for patients from one guy out of control on ice. Stand off lasted four hours.

We need the drivers license standard as UK have introduced.

Bah Humbug Remember how it all started! Well back in the grass roots days PRE AUF and AUF days we were flying below 500ft all day long, my preferred height was 10ft above the tress back then. These flying machines had no rego or certification. Home built and some of the guys were self taught - no two seat training - no GA training oh and no ops manual or pilot certs. Imported and aussie factory built also had no rego or certificates. It was also very cheap to fly. We survived, (yes some didn't) same as now, flying was fun and great days and nights with the guys. Also how many people are flying without rego or cert and out of eyesight NOW in the back blocks?

Thank you Nobody I understand that, So that everyone understands that are not aware, with most RAA non owning aircraft people, is that it was "Eurocopters finger problems" that put in the wrong code. That members flying RAA as you said "when installing the unit fo the first time" is correct and don't have to touch the coding.

Still unclear, as I assume other members on this post, on how this was achieved or set. How it is corrected and how to check it.

So anyway we live in Australia that has poor government and pollies anyway, but nothing compared to what the Americans have. So on one hand Clinton left the White House and since that time has a $2 billion foundation all whilst Hillary was elected and Secretary of State - stinks to high heaven to start with. Trump his father gave him 1 million bucks and supposedly he is now worth 10 billion or whatever more than I can count anyway on property deals which is usually a knife fighting business anyway. The US election has shown how corrupt the land of the free democratic elections are. The Americans and have only two choices basically the same as we do here in Australia. So if we assume Clinton is OBAMA 2.0 then we can assume that Hillary will spend over $1 trillion a year in debt as Obama has done which will put their debt of around $25 trillion by the end of her first term-ish. Now all the financial gurus say 25 trillion in debt will make America a third world country and bankrupt. No ifs and buts. And the rest of the world follows. And with all the other Crooked Hillary dealings that you hear of would you go near her with a barge pole. Oh and by the way will probably see Bill’s sneaking in some Viagra to the White House if he is in as first gent. Now trump on the other hand winds up the local rednecks wants to free up the economy and wants to renegotiate all the trade deals that have been disastrous for the world over including Australia. Remember he also did 14 seasons of your fired The Apprentice, and knows how to play to a TV audience all day long. So yes he does want to build a wall, he does want to throw out 11 million illegal Mexicans that are taking American jobs and he wants to ban Syrian refugees to until they can do background check on them. By the way why do we lock all our refugees and illegals trying to enter by boat on an island or another country I did watch his children speak and they are certainly not dumb or stupid, so trump has a perfect family that reflects very well on the way they were brought up. So the question is for us aussies on the sideline that don’t count but is certainly commenting on it all if you had to choose between the two, Clinton or Trump and you had to pick one of them which one????
