    Drifter Pics

Bit grainy taken from an IPhone but you rarely get 4 drifters in formation these days. Taken over Gympie Qld. Wayne Fisher Memorial Flight
  2. Santity reigns once again
  3. Justin most 582 drifters here lift the fuel from the belly tank with no problems. Had a 503 with the same set up as your proposal. And i found i became parinoid on a long trip that the fuel was being pumped into the top tank. Unless you have a gauge connected to the back tank, it could be a worry. Love the idea of converting to a 912 would consider it if i was a bit more mechanicaly minded Have a great trip and do put some photos on site
  4. Wanted belly tank for a drifter. or information were to get one made.
  5. Great day out. Well done Childers, slow journey home 50 knots all the way home and a few showers, all very enjoyable except the numb bum drifter syndrome.
  6. Dave has it right Rec aviation at Gympie. Great guys and they know there stuff. Also they can arrange accomodation near the strip. Gympie is a great place to fly from, with not to much traffic and beautiful countryside
  7. Guys we have 5 drifters here in gympie and I know the aero club will be behind any fly in.
  8. Answer to your questions not MKT it's a private strip out past Humpty Doo. I could say the NT always has been a bit backward but that's what gives it its charm, love the place but hate the weather five months of the year
  9. Recreational Aviation at Gympie have one for instruction and hire, flown it a couple of times very nice docile machine
  10. Wayne Fisher at Lismore will run you a set up does a great job. had him do mine a couple of years back.

  15. The airfield is MKT last time I was there avgas was available, quite away out of town though no public transport or anywhere to hire a car locally. I'm sure though that some one from the club would be happy to help out though very friendly lot up there in the top end,
  16. almost as good as a Drifter but no bugs in your face. looks great Tomo
  17. Tomo hang your head in shame its not a Drifter. You must bring it down to Gympie sometime and let us have a look. happy and safe flying
  18. SSSHHH dont tell the world, nice quite airstrip and we would like to keep it that way
  19. They have lots of the de-ice but only on winter days above 2000 sorry couldnt resist
  20. I fly both, but find the WB seems to be lighter on the controls and just doesnt seem to have the heavy feeling that the SB has, could just be me I suppose. As stated as long as you maintain the wires you shouldnt have any problems. The only time I have had to tension the wires in the last two years was when I took the wings off. even then its not a huge job to do. Robert
  21. Dont forget to look me up next time your down, maybe take the drifter into them there hill country strips
