2. worth a snap - fueling - I was on peasant side of fence - it took off about 3.00 pm going somewhere
3. ............. you'd feel like running up in front of the ruskie and throwing spuds (or frozen chickens) in the inlets
4. Compulsion ....... you are putting a lot of trust in one TV controller mate
5. ............ true maj - but if your passenger ever turns out to be an axe muderer I don't spose any breifing will assist (unless you advise that axe is to be left on ground)
6. I took a passenger up .................... and during a cruise portion of the flight 'the ball' was way over to one side ................... I quietly suggested to the passemger it would probably be a good idea if they removed their foot from one of the rudder pedals In hindsight the passenger was tense and had braced one leg - the end of that leg was a foot and a rudder pedal
7. ................ interesting andy and maj - if I could be so bold as to say i reckon you are both 1 all - that's a draw .............. the australian cricket team would be happy with that what skills are the board specifically looking for - is there that many ? I can see IT being one ............... but if I was a qualified gardener surely I'm not going to canberra to mow the lawns Andy - was there a discussion about what specific skills were to be attracted / required ?
8. FH - sorry I am no mechanic - what setting dodge hydraulic locking - do they have decompression thingy ?
9. I thought first morning start - a radial motor had to be pulled through to get rid of any oil in bottom cylinders - to stop hydraulic shock ? .................. or was that for compression ? I can understand this is possible for a DHC2 beaver with wheels but what about a float plane - what about big radials ........ worse still a Mars or a Sunderland ..................... whats the answer aviators ?
10. Confucious say 'I am philosopher - not pilot'
11. Confuscious say: 'Sticks and stones will break my bones ............ but whips and chains excite me'
12. Those new production tools - they called them 'women' - were used quiet extensively in that factory There seemed to be quiet a number and .................. the factory appeared to be having no problems with them
13. this is cynical but I think Farri makes a conclusive statement: 'what's the point ................. ' I have always thought it would even be 'immediately' safer if someone was carrying a bomb that it was not discovered because if you are waiting in the pens for flight .............. there could a bloody big fire cracker going off any time soon
14. Eat some of those Phil ............... tell us what happens !
15. Interstingly on the ABC there was a person interviewed - this person did not have a defined gender at birth - he had lived life as both sexes (now aged about 40) - this is the position that some find themselves in - in some cases not their choice he was selected at customs for a drug search (I don't know if cavities were involved (we all have cavities)) ........................ any way into the room with luggage he went and a strip search was done - after this was finalised he stated he was allowed to leave - WITHOUT THE LUGGAGE BEING SEARCHED ...................... he concluded that customs appeared more interested in the strip search than anything else:crazy:
16. I travelled to central highlands yesterday - went by Qlink - as always can't complain about the service Its also encouraging that we live in such a safe society - I got a bomb test at brisbane airport - a breatherlizer test in Emerald town - AND a bomb test at emerald airport ....................... crikey
17. that would make a good new thread, that FH - there are lots of instances of planes that have flown away by themselves - their landings would of no doubt been more spectacular
18. And also ......................... the easiest plane to fly is the type were there's an instrucor sitting right next to you
19. Bull - if you supply your postal address or bank details - I'm sure we could all chip in and buy you a keyboard ?
20. .............. old and bold ? its difficult to say that fate and timing were the only factors I hope all - including the passengers family and friends move on as best they can and have a good future life
21. this link suplies more intrigue .......................... page 1 http://southburnettcouncilwatch.org/?p=1 sorry BB ............ no strip club (yet)
22. good point BB - could be an air park
23. 8.Its probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in. Lyndon B Johnson. What was LBJ thinking here ! - is this a Kevin R and Julia G type of comment ?
24. another good reminder is what a well known radio announcer says which helped me: 'a good way to quit smoking is to stop sucking on the ends of them' ................. sort of reinforces what smoking is all about in a way
25. reading the latest sport pilot mag and a particular plane in that mag - it said one notch of flap to be selected for take off I can't imagine any ultalight wouldn't get off the ground without flaps being selected (assuming the plane has flaps) - is there an ultralight that won't leave the ground without flap - or is there some other issue ? just curious
